The Kindergarten enjoyed a performance of Charlotte's Web at the Center for the Puppetry Arts this week.

The sixth grade worked on memoir writing in the Pecan Grove. According to Mr. Marchman, "being out in the grove helps us focus on our senses" and be able to create a picture through writing.

ACT FAST to Help Heritage Win $100,000! |
Have you rated us yet? The ratings period ends Tuesday (October 26), so please hurry! The Heritage entry in Bing's "Our School Needs" contest is currently rated fifteenth out of eighty-two in our category. The top five will advance to the finals next week. Help us get there!
At the MS football game last night, we helped about fifty people rate our entry, and in the process, our entry moved up four positions! That means it only takes about twelve people to make a difference. Will you be one of the twelve?
We need YOU (and your parents, children, siblings, cousins, neighbors, and friends) to give Heritage five stars! You can do this at home (find out how), or come to the varsity football game tonight and we will help you. Look for the "Did You BING" posters! |

Please let Nan Troutman (nan@numail.org) know if you are able to attend, and contact Nan if you have any questions. |
Heritage Students Compete in Horse Show | |
Heritage students Ashley Wood (6th), Madison Crymes (7th), and Konnor Fetherston (9th) recently competed in the Quail Ridge Farm Horse Show in Moreland.
Ashley Wood showed her pony, Blue Masquerade, in the 2'3" Division in the Low Hunter and Low Child/Adult Equitation Classes. In the Hunter classes, the horse's jumping form and movement are judged. In the Equitation classes, the rider's position and control are judged. Ashley won Champion in the Equitation portion and Reserve Champion in the Hunter portion. She placed in all of her classes. Madison Crymes competed with Made for the Occasion in the Crossrail Hunter and Mini Hunter Divisions, which each included two jumping classes and one flat class, in which the rider shows the pony at a walk, trot, and canter. She placed in all of her classes, and won Champion in one division and Reserve Champion in the other. Konnor Fetherston competed in the Short/Long stirrup division (2' fence height) with her medium pony, Finn MacCool. She won the hunter portion of this division. She competed with her large pony, Crescent Moon, in the Modified Hunter division at 2"9" for the first time. Konnor is also participating in the United States Equestrian Federation's (USEF) High School Equestrian Athlete Program. USEF recognizes that equestrian athletes dedicate as much, if not more time preparing for competition as does any other athlete in a high school program. Participation in USEF's program is similar to earning a high school letter. Heritage is proud of all three of these equestrians! |
