The Lower School celebrated "Farewell to Summer" on Friday. Each student wore a special summer t-shirt and enjoyed ice cream on the playground.

The ELC kids celebrated the end of summer with Pirate Day. They sang pirate songs at the assembly dressed in T-shirts they had painted. Pirate Loose Tooth read them a story and sang a Pirate song. The day was full of activities that included a giant slide, Pirate Ship ring toss, Musical Pirates, digging for gold, and a festive snack. We'll bet you didn't know a pirate graduated from Heritage! Does anyone recognize Pirate Loose Tooth, class of 2002?

Conference Day - Wednesday, September 15 | |
As a school, we consider Student-Parent-Teacher Conferences an integral part of creating an atmosphere and a partnership that stresses the importance of a student taking ownership of his/her learning. To this end, we schedule two days during the school year for conferencing, September 15 and March 2. Prior to the conference, your student will have met with his/her advisor, or classroom teacher, to prepare for the conference. At the conference, you can expect your child to discuss his/her progress, concerns about school, and plans/goals for the school year.
Some important points about Conference Day:
- This day is specifically planned for conferencing. There will be no regular classes. Your child should come for his/her conference only.
- We have made every effort to coordinate conferences for families with multiple children in such a manner so that you have time to move from one conference to another. Please be punctual. Additionally, please understand that when a teacher brings the conference to a close, it is time for your conference to end. Should you have additional concerns, please email your child's teacher, and he/she will set up another time to meet with you.
- School is your child's job. The conference is his/her business meeting. Your child should come dressed accordingly. While the uniform is not required for conference day, the expectation is that your child will come dressed appropriately for this meeting.
We hope that you and your child will find this day meaningful and important. It is an opportunity for the child, parents, and the teacher/advisor to plan together for the child's success in school. Thank you in advance for your engaged participation and for providing time for us all to work together. |
Picture Day - Tuesday, September 14 |
Individual and class photos will be taken on Tuesday beginning at 8:30 a.m. with the youngest students. Students should wear appropriate dressy attire. This year, students will be offered a basic set of individual pictures free of charge. The basic set includes four photos. Additional photos may be ordered from the company after photos arrive OR parents may order additional pictures up front by filling out the order forms which were given to the teachers. If you are not satisfied with the pictures, they may be returned for retakes on Tuesday, October 19. Class pictures are available for you to order at a cost of $10 (optional order). The Upper School students have elected not to take class photos. To order lower and middle school class photos, please download and fill out the form and return it to your child's teacher by Tuesday, September 14. |

We would appreciate your help by bringing an additional dish preferably in a disposable pan. Be sure to mark any dish that may contain peanut products due to possible allergies.
