The Board of Trustees and Head of School, Judy Griffith, are pleased to introduce to you Rusty Evans, our new Middle School Division Director. Rusty will be teaching eighth grade literature and language arts, directing our growing middle school division, and coaching Middle School and Varsity Boys' Basketball.
"I've always known the academic reputation of Heritage," said Evans. "I consider it an honor to be here."
Evans has 14 years of experience in public education, having taught and coached in Polk, Heard, and Coweta Counties. Evans was most recently employed by the Coweta County School System at Lee Middle School.
"The middle grades have always been close to my heart," added Evans. "I've always felt that the Middle School division is the setting in which teachers and administrators can make the biggest impact in the lives of students."
Evans earned a Bachelor of Arts in middle grades education from LaGrange College. He earned a master's degree in educational leadership at the University of West Georgia.
"I'm excited about the opportunity to do administration and coaching, the two arenas about which I am most passionate," said Evans. "I've already met the players and parents, and I'm really excited to build on the enthusiasm of the current program at Heritage," he added.
Evans, his wife Jena, and their three children, Chase, Grant, and Sara Kate, reside in Newnan. |
