Family Cookout and Open House Today! |
The admissions office planned a Family Cookout/Open House event TODAY, March 12, beginning at 4:00 p.m., in conjunction with three Varsity home games. Due to inclement weather, the outdoor event as originally envisioned is not possible. We will, however, still be hosting a cookout/get together this afternoon in the SLC -serving hamburgers, hot dogs, chips, and drinks to ALL in attendance. Milan Ireland, Kathryn Martin, Julie Thames, and John Wienand will be performing.
Because we advertised this as an Open House in the local newspapers and on the banner out front, we need to be available to those who might still be planning to attend. We would like to have some Heritage families on hand to meet and greet prospective new families. There is no better testimonial to the value of a Heritage education than that provided by our parents and students. Please bring a guest family with you, if possible, and be sure to tell them that we have also rescheduled the outdoor Family Cookout and Varsity Game Day event for Thursday, March 18, from 4:00 to 6:30 p.m. |

Heritage STARs |
|

Senior Taylor Hall Harcourt was one of four seniors from Coweta County high schools honored by the Newnan Rotary Club as a STAR student. The STAR - or Student Teacher Achievement Recognition - is a statewide program that recognizes outstanding high school seniors and their influential teachers. Taylor chose Glenda Davis, his AP English teacher, as his STAR teacher. STAR students are selected based on academic achievement. They must have the highest SAT score and a grade point average in the top 10 percent of their class.

The Heritage Singers perform in Disney World |
|

Disney Magic Music Days is an event that gives performance groups an opportunity to represent their school on a Disney stage. Groups must send in an audition tape that is judged by Disney Music staff. The Heritage Singers were delighted to be invited to participate for a second year in this event. On March 4, 22 students left for a four-day trip to Disney World, performing on the Waterside Stage in Downtown Disney to a packed audience. Numbers included "Ain't No Mountain High Enough", "ABC", and other Motown classics. Drew Murray, Maggie Ginn, Ben Dudley, Kegan Isaack, Julie Thames, Larry Shaffer, and Allison Sullivan performed outstanding solos, but the entire group represented Heritage exceedingly well.
Join us on May 13, when The Heritage Singers will repeat their Motown performance at the Spring Concert! |
Students Honored at the National Ocean Sciences Bowl |
|

Under the leadership of faculty member Lory Pendergrast, sophomores Kathryn Martin, Connor Heindel, Tre Wheat and Joel Prock competed in the National Ocean Sciences Bowl (NOSB) on March 6, held at Savannah State University. The Heritage team made it all the way to the quarterfinals, losing only to last year's regional winners. They are the incredibly proud recipients of this year's Sportsmanship Award.
Congratulations to these students and to Mrs. Pendergrast for an outstanding job!

Opportunity for YOU to Make a Difference |
Heart Friends, a group that supports Children's Healthcare of Atlanta through fundraising initiatives and in-service programs, is pleased to announce its first ever Bowl-a-thon taking place on March 27 at the beautiful Ten Pin Alley at Atlantic Station.
Proceeds from this event will go toward start-up costs for the Beads of Courage program, a nation-wide pediatric hospital program that recognizes and honors patients for their journey through various surgeries, procedures, and day-to-day treatments they must endure.
Because Heart Friends is comprised primarily of patient families who have children treated at the Sibley Heart Center, this event will specifically fund the cost of starting the Beads of Courage program within the Children's Sibley Heart Center.
Heritage parent Melissa Harvey is the Chair of Heart Friends. Please help her support this worthy initiative by attending this event. Children are welcome! Purchase tickets here, or download the flier. | |
