Summer Issue of MASK The Magazine

Reminds Readers of the Importance of Reconnecting

SCOTTSDALE, AZ - Ahhh, summer. No more hurried mornings: packing lunches, rushing the kids off to school, or helping with homework. Summer is a great time to relax, reboot and reconnect with your kids after a long, scheduled school year. The latest issue of MASK The Magazine focuses on ways to reconnect with your family.

Of course, a vacation away from home is always a nice change and allows relaxation and a chance to recharge. But readers of the summer issue of MASK The Magazine: Reboot & Reconnect: Rediscover the Power of the Family Connection, will learn that you don't have to leave town to feel reconnected. Simple, everyday activities can do the job. Take a technology holiday, cook together and find ways to exercise together. Discover ways to volunteer as a family with help from Heather Jack, founder of The Volunteer Family, an organization with a database that matches volunteers with projects in your area.

Arizona State Treasurer Doug Ducey is the contributing writer for the "Dad Dialed In" section and tells how he strikes the perfect balance between his high-profile career and his role as a father. Attorney, busy mom, and "First Lady of Arizona" Nicole France Stanton writes about trying to juggle it all, while making memories with her children. Try a new recipe from Jack Witherspoon, an inspiring 11-year old chef and cookbook author who taught himself to cook while undergoing treatment for leukemia.

In the Summer "SAT Section" (Student Awareness Tools), students from Torrey Pines High School in California, sound off on quality family time, friends over family and a need for independence. The SAT's are written solely by students and are designed to give students a voice and an opportunity to describe how they view the value of the family connection.

From rounding up the family for a summer road trip to remember, to finding your ideal "down time" or a date night with your significant other, MASK The Magazine is a must-read this summer in your hammock or beach chair. The summer issue is currently on all Barnes & Noble store shelves in Arizona, and at Changing Hands Bookstore in Tempe, Arizona.
