Prop 203 The legalization of medical marijuana
The TRUTH about Prop 203
(the so-called "medical" marijuana initiative)

Who WE are: Law Enforcement, Community, Business, and Political Leaders who CARE about Arizona!

Sheriff Joe Arpaio, Sheriff of Maricopa County
Michael Bidwill, President of the Arizona Cardinals
Jerry Colangelo, Chairman of USA Basketball
Senator Jon Kyl
Senator John McCain
And many, many other ARIZONANS who care about this STATE!

Who THEY are:  The Marijuana Policy Project ("MPP"), a national pro-drug lobby with the stated mission of
legalizing marijuana across the country.  MPP spends millions of dollars nationally on advertising campaigns
to persuade voters to believe "medical" marijuana initiatives will make small amounts of marijuana available
only for people with serious illnesses.  ALL FALSE!

Up to 98% of people getting "medical" marijuana will have no serious illness!

Prop 203 specifically allows a marijuana recommendation for "severe and chronic pain," which is a huge loophole being abused in other states.  As few as 2% of those getting "medical" marijuana in other states have cancer, AIDS or glaucoma - the conditions these laws are supposedly for. The other 98% have mild complaints like tension headaches, sprained ankles and other common ailments, or even no ailments at all!

The very large amounts of marijuana that will be available suggest DRUG TRAFFICKING, not medicine!

Prop 203 allows liberal amounts of marijuana to be purchased from a dispensary (200 or so joints every two weeks) or grown at home (12 plants, which can produce up to 36 pounds per year)!  One person could not possibly consume the huge amounts of marijuana allowed to him, making the initiative look more like drug trafficking than medicine.  Recorded purchases are only part of the story!  A marijuana user is not prohibited from buying from other sources!

Marijuana users will make life more dangerous for the rest of Arizonans!

Marijuana users will be exempt from existing laws in the workplace, in renting homes or apartments, and in driving an automobile.  Marijuana users can't be charged with DUI for smoking marijuana before driving, fired from their job for smoking marijuana before work, or evicted from a rented home for growing or smoking marijuana.  Marijuana users will enjoy special protections above those provided to the rest of Arizonans and will jeopardize the safety, prosperity and well being of children, co-workers, employers, landlords, and the general public.

Prop 203 will bring increased crime, teenage drug use, and car wrecks to Arizona!

Marijuana users can grow marijuana in homes, creating "indoor grow houses" that blight neighborhoods, bring down property values and dramatically increase drug trafficking and other criminal activity. In other states, marijuana dispensaries and indoor grow houses bring increased crime to neighborhoods, yet Prop 203 allows criminals, even convicted felons, to own and operate dispensaries and grow their own!  Even if there is no dispensary in your neighborhood, dispensaries can deliver! "Medical" marijuana states have higher rates of teenage drug use and far more fatal car wrecks caused by marijuana-smoking drivers.

DON'T BELIEVE THE PROPAGANDA!
Prop 203 is NOT what MPP wants Arizonans to think it is!  It is a back-door route to legalization that
protects drugs users at the expense of the rest of Arizonans.
