*San Angelo Wine and Food Festival*
Gourmet Dinner February 19th, San Angelo
Guest Chef Tim Byers of Smoke Dallas Texas
This is a cannot miss wine event for all the oenophiles out there! (that is wine lovers) The San Angelo Wine and Food Festival Gourmet Wine Dinner will be held in February this year. (The rest of the festival will still be in April) This will be the coolest culinary-wine event of the year. The guest chef is Chef Tim Byers of Smoke in Dallas. His business partner and manager is Christopher Jeffers a local San Angelo lad. They also own Bolsa in Dallas. Tim was recently named Chef of the Year in the Metroplex. He was also in Southern Living this past month, along with an article in the New York Times. What I'm trying to say is "This dude can cook!" His food is very down to earth kind of like really upscale BBQ, but his flavors are our of this world!
The wines, which were paired by none other than yours truly, so you know it will be rockin'! Seriously, I was very honored to have been asked to do this and you can bet your, well whatever, I worked hard on this deal. Spent a couple of days at Smoke during the Cowboys season tasting their fine cuisine (sometimes my job is very tough) so that I could nail this puppy.
It should be a blast we are doing all European wines, Spanish, Italian, German, and French. Space is limited so if you haven't already made reservations got on the horn and call Daniel at the San Angelo Cultural Affairs office at (325) 653-6793. Tickets are $150 per person but it will be well worth the price of admission! There is also a dance after featuring the band Free Ride coming from Abilene 60's & 70's style dancing music!
