All is well here in Maui! Business is booming and the Maui economy is recovering. Maui is such a special place and I am so blessed to live here and share this island beauty with you.
In October, the kids and I were fortunate to stay at the Westin Kaanapali Ocean Resort Villas, (referred to as Westin KOR by locals). This property is a Starwood timeshare property, though it is available to non-owners. This Westin KOR, brings together condo style vacation with all the amenities of a resort hotel. It is truly the best of both worlds. The 1 bedroom units here have a full kitchen, granite countertops, stainless steel appliances, washer/dryer and a large jacuzzi tub. This bathroom and tub is my favorite. I can picture a romantic setting with candles, rose petals and a bottle of champagne. However in my real life, the tub usually has a tower of bubbles and my two giggling girls in the midst of it. How would this picture look on your vacation??
There are three courtyards here at the Westin Kaanapali Ocean Resort and each one has a specific pool area. The South courtyard has the main activity pool with a slide and a smaller keiki pool attached. Also, 2 jacuzzi pools also. The Ocean Pool Bar is at this courtyard also and this is where you can get the Buffet breakfast, lunch and dinner. We ate dinner here one night and had the Crab Stuffed Mahi Mahi with Miso butter sauce. It was so tasty, I do plan to go back and have this meal again.
In the middle courtyard is the keiki Pirate ship pool and the
Westin Kid's club. Available for both Day and Night camp for ages 5-12. Fee applies
In the North courtyard the pool is more adult oriented, though is not only for adults. It is quite a bit smaller, more river like with a jacuzzi pool and it pours down into a pool at the end that has a basketball net and ball for shooting around. The Pailolo Grill and Bar is in this area, open from 10:30am - 8pm. Also, in the North tower area is the Spa Heilani, a full service spa to meet all of your needs. SpaFinders awarded this one of the top 10 Favorite New Getaway Spas.
The Westin Maui also offers a complimentary shuttle that will take you down to the Sheraton Maui, Westin Maui and the Whaler's Village shops. And a second shuttle that will take you into Lahaina town. No worrying about paid parking lots.
The Westin Kaanapali also has a departure lounge for the day you are heading back home. Plan accordingly, pack a bag with what you will need to freshen up before you head to the airport. You can store your luggage with the bellman. The departure lounge has access to the men and women's locker rooms with a fresh supply of towels and shampoo, plus hair dryer. You can sit and relax in the lounge with A/C, magazines and a TV, plus vending machines.
Some of the recent deals at this property are reduced room rates when booking round trip airfare. You can often get a 3rd night free with daily breakfast buffet for 2 and a guaranteed room upgrade. Please know that I will always shop around to find the best deal to meet your needs.
The kids and I really enjoyed our stay here at the Westin Kaanapali Ocean Resort. A special Thanks to Meghan, Sales manager for taking the time to make us feel extra special. She sent us a platter of fruit, cookies and chocolate covered strawberries. The entire staff here goes the extra step to make sure my guests are well accommodated and your needs are met. Definitely one of our favorite hotel properties on Maui.
