Westin Maui, Kaanapali Beach:  Great Location, Super Fun Pool, VIP Amenities and Heavenly Beds.
Westin Pool 2
Melissa and KayWow, what a busy summer we had.  One of the best on record.  Every year I learn a little more about how to best accommodate the needs of my clients.  One of my best moves was teaming up with McCoy Travel, so when I book certain hotels, I can add on VIP amenities for my clients.  Picture of Melissa McCoy and I.

Mahalo to those who have used my services and posted reviews on www.tripadvisor.com  By posting that you used my services in planning your trips, it is amazing how quickly that generates more clients for me.  And this year, I have had new clients contact me from Sweden, Australia and Hong Kong.  They mentioned they read about me on Trip Advisor.  I greatly appreciate your time in posting those reviews.

As the summer wore down, the kids and I had the opportunity to stay at the Westin Maui on Kaanapali Beach.  The first evening, I met up with Melissa McCoy and her staff and enjoyed a sunset cocktail reception hosted by the Westin Sales Manager, Fernando.  It was a nice evening to compare notes all the way around and find out exactly what the Westin has to offer my clients.  My room was the Premium Deluxe ocean view overlooking the pool and the ocean.  The room had 2 double beds and a twin sleeper sofa.  This worked wonderful for my family of 4.  Aaliyah took the cushions from the chair and made her own bed, Maya slept on the sleeper sofa and Jake and I had the Westin Heavenly beds.  Ahhhh.
Westin adult pool
We spent the majority of the day time by the pool, the Westin has 5 pool areas and you can choose to sit in a different area every day though I think many will find a favorite.  I prefer the adults only deck, though with three kids I don't get up there much.  It is a great consideration though when you are traveling during family vacation months and still want to get away from it all.  There is a bar and hot tub up on this deck also.  Plus great views.
On day one we were over by the pool slide as the kids can come down the slide and I can rate their performances.  Though on day 2, we were on the deck by the pool desk and lounging in the cabanas facing the ocean.  This is my new favorite spot.  There is also a volleyball net, basketball net and a smaller tube slide.  Be sure to get a float and just relax in the pool.

Sunday morning we decided to partake in the breakfast buffet.  I do not always understand portion control and ate way too much before putting on the swimsuit.  These two do not go hand in hand.  Though I really like eating and this buffet has great selections.  Fresh fruit, lox and bagels, eggs benedict, Portuguese sausage, made to order omlette station and so much more.  All of us went for seconds, and you would think it would tide us over for the day?  No, kids wanted lunch just a few hours later.

Usually I send Jake over to Whaler's Village to pick up a few take out items from Nikki's Pizza, ground floor in the food court.  Jake loves the Hawaiian Pineapple and Ham calzone.  Plus they have salads, pasta and sandwiches.

The Westin Maui is a beautiful property with many photo opportunities.  This is a great location to do a family portrait or just to take some photos in a tropical setting.  The location on Kaanapali Beach is pretty much perfect.  You are central on the beach, walking distance to just about everything Kaanapali has to offer.  You can walk to Black Rock for snorkel, surf and parasail right out front and ride a jet ski at the south end of the beach.  Snorkel, sunset cruises and luaus, plus Cirque Polynesia are all within walking distance.  The Whaler's Village shops, restaruants and entertainment are right next door also.

The Westin is offering some great specials such as the Sunsational Savings with a 3rd night free and daily breakfast buffet for 2.  If we book with a wholesaler, we can get a guaranteed upgrade on the room.  And quite often there are packages that if you book with airfare, you get a reduced rate and this package will come in at a lower price.  Then I will use our Signature Amenities to add on the daily breakfast buffet for 2 and a 10% discount in the Spa and a possible room upgrade based on availability.  Trust that I will find you the best rate that I can and offer any additional amenities so you get that VIP experience.
Jake's Teen Scene

I think the Westin is a great hotel for teens. There is a fun pool with an alright slide. There is also a little area in the pool where you can play basketball. There is also the beach! I would hang with my friends and go jump off black rock which is north from the Westin up the beach walk. The Westin is part of the Ka'anapali beach walk so it is connected to Whaler's Village. My little food court with some shopping areas.
Maya & Aaliyah's Keiki Corner
You might think that Aaliyah and Maya would say that the pool was their favorite thing at the Westin Maui. Wrong!  Let me use 3 words to best describe what makes this hotel special for my girls.
Stuart, Kurrant and Eli. These three young men work as pool attendants at the Westin Maui and what great assets they are for this hotel.  My girls feel like VIP's all day long.  They host the Pool Slide races, winners get a free shave ice coupon.  Somehow my girls had a few extra coupons.  Do not overlook these guys at the pool.  They definitely enhanced our weekend getaway.  Aaliyah also loves the Koi feeding frenzy and spending time hanging out with the Swans.  Lots of other activities planned throughout the day such as airbrush tattoos, lei making and Ukulele 101.
