Greetings!
Whew, all this resort living is a tough job. OK, so I get no sympathy for having to stay in a resort hotel each month? It really is fun though I am falling behind a bit. This will be our 4th hotel in 6 months. Maya has gone to Texas for the summer, Jake is heading to California to go to camp and Aaliyah and I , well, we may just have to do a different island hotel just to mix it up a bit.
Business has been great lately and I am looking forward to a busy summer. Mahalo for all the referrals and repeat visits. I truly appreciate your support.
I am continuing to update my website and have previous newsletters posted on the site: www.mauikay.com I will be attempting to add some videos to the site also in addition to some new photos.
Now, to introduce the Hyatt Maui, this was the first hotel I worked at here in Maui. I can honestly say I much prefer staying here than working here. This is one of my favorite hotels to recommend to clients, it has something for everyone.

Hyatt Regency Maui
When we first arrived at the Hyatt Maui, we were warmly greeted by Emily at the Front Desk. She was outgoing and friendly and it was a great start to our stay. She gave us the towel cards to use at the pool and a cold bottle of water for each of us. Plus 3 nice green recyclable bags. I like the bags, we used them quite a bit while there. I mentioned about going to the Swan Court buffet breakfast and she offered us a coupon for 2 for 1 for the buffet.
We checked into our room that was directly over the lobby area where the cars pull up. Surprisingly so, we didn't hear any noise, it didn't bother us at all. The room was nice with a Queen and full size bed, large flat screen TV and an iHome to plug in our iPods. The room has a mini fridge in it so we brought drinks, fruit and yogurt for snacks. There is a snack tray and if you take anything off it, you are charged. Temptation is sneaky, especially with kids.
We had plans to go to the Hyatt Luau that day so we took a walk around the hotel to get familiar and check out the wildlife. Aaliyah is an animal whisperer, so she needs to visit them all. Penquins in the lobby, African Cranes in the Napili Tower, Flamingos in the Lahaina Gardens. Almost like visiting a zoo.

We went to the Hyatt Luau and had a great evening. As always, I know a few people working here, so it was fun to catch up. We visited the arts and crafts table so my daughters could get some flower clips for their hair. Plus they went on stage and danced the Hukilau, an old favorite. The food was great, Jake & I love Kalua Pig, so we had large helpings. Eat all you want, save room for the desserts. The show was enjoyable, gets better as it goes along. We love the Maori Warriors, they were most entertaining. And the evening ends with the fire dancer. The kids had me take photos with them and some of the cast members.

The next morning we went to the keiki pool. First we stopped to get towels at the poolside desk. Brandon was working the weekend we were there and he was happy to share information. The Hyatt has the towels with pockets you slide over the top of the chairs so they don't slide down. Great idea. And we got extra ones to use to dry off. Jake cruises on his own, as many teenagers will do. The girls are all over the pool area. Down the lava tube slide, across the rope bridge, into the fountains and through the cave. The ridiculed me any chance they got. Jumping on the bridge as I was trying to cross, stepping on the fountains so they squirt me. Giggling at me while I attempted to keep up in the free pool aerobics class. Fun for all!
Breakfast at Swan Court restaurant is almost too much. This was the restaurant I worked at, so I have fond memories of getting there at 5 in the morning and accosted by a large swan in the restaurant. LOL The buffet has everything you could want and more. Fresh Fruit, danishes, omletes to order, standard and local breakfast dishes. Come hungry.

Now here are some important things you might want to know. If I book the Hyatt for you, I can add on a daily breakfast buffet for 2 for each day of your stay, if it isn't already in your package. Plus offer you a two for 1 at the Hyatt Luau. And if available a room upgrade to the next available category. All this at no additional cost to you.
And one of my clients who recently stayed at the Hyatt offered me this great tip: If you are a member at Costco, you can buy Hyatt gift cards worth $100 for $80. That gives you an automatic 20% off whatever you buy. Charge to the room and pay with gift cards at the end. Great Tip, thanks Josh!!
The Hyatt Maui is definitely one of my favorite hotels to recommend to my clients. Fun pool, beautiful gardens and photo spots areound the property. Nice for adults, couples, honeymooners and those celebrating an anniversary. Find a beachfront hammock and watch sunset. Or plan to have a private beachside dinner. And during school breaks the Hyatt is a great place for families, as they will love the pool and exploring the property. Cirque Polynesia is also at the Hyatt and is a fun and entertaining evening event. And if you are like me and you have to work while on break or even just check emails, there is a fee for T-Mobile connection of $9.99 per night. Daily resort fee of $15 per night that includes self parking, free local calls and daily newspapers.

Jake's Teen Scene
The Hyatt is a great friendly family hotel. I had a great time with the family. At the Hyatt they have animals such as flamingos, penguins, BIRDS, and swans. It was really cool to see these animals in a hotel and not in their own habitat. The pool is alright. The slide is the best. Its perfect for kids (and adults) who are not scared of the dark and like to go fast. There is also an adult pool to most kids don't go to. The luau was fun too. There was a big feast and it was delicious. And since the Hyatt is in Ka'anapali its on the beachwalk where all the hotels and stores are so its a big place to hang. Like I said before its a friendly family hotel anyone can enjoy it.

Maya & Aaliyah's Keiki Corner
The Girls love this hotel. Maya had fun at the luau, getting up on the stage and dancing along with the Hukilau, Though it was pretty basic and she has done that song many times. She also loves the beach, though at the time we were there, the beach was about a 5 foot drop down from where we were sitting at the pool. And of course my graceful beauty had to go slide down it scratching up her legs as she went. You have to know Maya to know that this is really funny and a common occurrence. Aaliyah had a great time in the pool and on the slide, though her favorite part of the Hyatt is the wildlife. She danced with the Flamingos, doing the head swirl with them. She stalked the African Crane, patiently waiting until he got so close it startled her. And my favorite is when she serenades the penguins. The penguins are in the lobby, and a rock wall separates you from them. She goes there and they all have their backs turned to you. Aaliyah starts singing to them and all of them turn to face her. Many other guests commented on this talent. And as soon as she stopped singing they all turned away again. Other people tried singing to, without the same reaction, it is odd. Though we visit them often enough, they may find her voice familiar. The Hyatt is by far one of Maya and Aaliyah's favorite hotels. They would recommend it for families with kids from toddlers to teens.
