Health Office Highlights

Reminder: Getting enough sleep helps children perform their best at school. According to the National Sleep Foundation, school-aged children need 10-11 hours of sleep. If your child is waking at 7:00 am to get ready for school, this means that bedtime should be between 8:00 and 9:00 pm.

Tips for a Good Night's Sleep

1.         Go to bed at the same time each night.

2.         Set a bedtime routine.

3.         Remove TV, computer games, and cell phones.

4.         Avoid pop or other caffeinated drinks in the evening.

Communicable Illnesses:  Reporting communicable illnesses to the health office helps us control the spread of illness. When your child is ill, please make sure that you leave information about the illness on the absence line or call the health office. The communicable illnesses reported to the health office for the week of April 9 are:  Influenza: 2 cases

Help your child develop good health habits at home. Wash hands frequently, cover a cough, and do not share eating utensils, combs, or brushes.
