cary head cool things to do
Saturday is the workshop and party
We always have this potluck and party after the last workshop in a series, so that's happening this Saturday, Feb. 26, workshop 3-6, party at 6:30 on, 1966 48th Avenue, San Francisco, 415 731-2661 .... Sometimes the party is a big, rollicking affair, and sometimes the party is a small, intimate affair. I have a feeling this time it will be somewhere in between.
People often choose to drop in on the workshop for this and then stay for the party. The potluck portion of it is very much just bring whatever, no big deal, it always works out OK. And I will get in touch with my musician friends to see what kind of jam can happen. And maybe we will do some readings. I'd like to do that. So bring things you'd like to read.
I love doing the Portuguese Artists Colony thing. Once a month, the last Sunday of the month, at 5 p.m., we go to Fivepoints Arthouse at 72 Tehama (bounded by Howard and Folsom, First & Second Steets) to entertain you with our new material and hear others read from their novels and short stories and plays and poems and we hang out with fascinating people we meet and listen to them play music and especially now we like to go and see the live writing competition, in which four contestants are given a prompt and must write brilliantly under duress and then read aloud, and the winner is then conscripted into next month's army to read a completed work. It's growing in popularity so come early to get a seat.
and don't forget the free noon writing practice every friday at cafe la boheme
We keep doing it. Apparently we can't stop.
cary head what is making me happy
this one last day of sun is making me happy
we understand that wild, outlandish, viciously cold weather is headed our way. It might even be down in the 20s out here on the coast, which is unheard of. So we're really enjoying this last day of brilliant sunshine. It looks like a gorgeous sunset over the beach this evening.
cary head what there is to look forward to
well, heck, what's not to look forward to? See you soon!
