Spotlight on:

Carol Wehmeyer,

MVP Specialist in Southeast Kansas

Get to know your council support

Carol Wehmeyer My typical day at GSKH looks like thisBUSY, BUSY, BUSY! Customer service to volunteers is top priority so that the girls can experience Girl Scouting to the fullest - so I strive to have a good relationship with all of the volunteers in my area.

I always try to understand where people coming from, and why they do things the way they do.   From this, I can incorporate each volunteer into a position on the LEAD Team that best fits him or her.

If I'm not here, you would find me: Outdoors!  Living in the country, there is always something outdoors to do.   On weekends, you find me helping my husband with chores on the farm.     But, there is time for fun too.  We enjoy taking a long cycle trip (that is, motorcycle) annually with a group of friends.   We just came back from Bryce Canyon.  Utah was beautiful!

Why I believe in Girl Scouts: I believe in Girl Scouts because through the GSLE (Girl Scout Leadership Experience) every girl develops life skills, discovers who she is and what she can do.  She learns that she can make a difference in the world around her.  And, the life-long friendships that are made along the way are priceless.

100 Hour Campfire in Parsons

Wrapping up the 100th Year of Girl Scouting!

To celebrate Girl Scouts 100th Year, Parsons Girl Scouts are having a 100 hour campfire, from Wednesday, October 24 to Sunday, October 28!  Troops are welcome to attend at anytime, and are invited to campout at the Parsons Girl Scout Little House.

While camping, troops will participate in service by cleaning up the Little House, while also having fun with Girl Scout songs and games!  A special All Girl Scout Sing Along is scheduled for Saturday, October 27 from 2-4 p.m.  If you are interested in participating, please contact Becky Falke at (620) 421-2427 or wildcatfamily@sbcglobal.net .  Troops/groups are responsible for their own meals and camping equipment.
