Year-in-Review
Highlights from the GSKH Annual Meeting
Each year at the Girl Scouts of Kansas Heartland Annual Meeting, the Board Chair and CEO deliver State of the Council remarks, outlining major events that have impacted the volunteers and girls, and happenings at the Council and national level that have been important in Girl Scouting.
We ended 2011 with the official launch of the 100th anniversary celebration at the National Convention in Houston. Board Chair Allison Ochoa shared insights on the convention, and how that will impact Kansas Heartland. And while The Year of the Girl is really in 2012, Allison also shared the importance of this national initiative with our delegates and guests at the Annual Meeting.
Any registered Girl Scout 14-years-old and older in Kansas Heartland can serve as a voting delegate to the Annual Meeting. The democratic process is a time-honored tradition in Girl Scouting, but we want to make sure we're meeting the needs of today's Girl Scout volunteers. If you were a part of the day and have feedback, please provide that to CEO Shelly Prichard. We examine the voting process each year to create the best way to involve our members, while making it a convenient and affordable process.

Spotlight on: Victoria Partridge, Product Sales Assistant Manager
Get to know your council support
What I do at GSKH: I have the awesome job of managing the Product Sales (Fall Opportunity Sale and Cookie Sale) for the Central Eastern and Southeastern portions of Kansas. The line of the Girl Scout Law that is most important to me - and why: "Make the world a better place." This is my favorite line because every time that I hear it recited, I smile. It makes me so happy to know that one of the things we strive for as Girl Scouts is to make the world a better place. What a great goal to have! When I'm not at work, you can find me: Hanging out with my 6-year old daughter, Izabel. We are usually creating something "interesting" in the kitchen, running around outside geocaching and looking at bugs, dancing around the house and singing to old school Michael Jackson, or snuggled up on the couch watching My Little Pony.
