Spotlight on: Monica Legleiter, MVP Manager, West Region
Get to know your council support
What I do in my position: I get to work with amazing staff, volunteers and girls who all believe in the Girl Scout Mission, Promise and Law.
My favorite Girl Scout activity is: Anything that allows me to see girls growing from their Girl Scout experience. My favorites of all time include: leading my daughter and her friends through Girl Scouts; summer camp at Camp Hansen; Scouts Sea and Sun trip to Savannah, GA/Orlando, FL; Girls Night Out At The Mall; and my job at GSKH.
When I'm not here, you can find me: Skyping or calling my daughter; watching Days of our Lives or reality television; surfing the internet. If time and money were no object, you'd find me traveling far and wide.

Cookie Sale Recognitions
Tips for celebrating success!
With Cookie Sale Recognitions arriving soon, now is the perfect time to plan a party! We all like to be recognized for our accomplishments and our Girl Scout entrepreneurs are no different. For example, you could have a cupcake party to highlight your girls' accomplishments and the importance of the cookie program. Recap with the girls what they learned throughout the sales, such as goal setting, decision making, money management, people skills and business ethics. This is a great opportunity for the girls to share with parents, grandparents, friends and neighbors. Press releases have been sent to all Kansas papers but you can call your local newspaper to participate in the moment and spread the joy of success!
The Service Unit Product Sales Manager should receive the recognition items in May. The Service Unit Managers will sort the items by troops for pick-up. Troops will then need to sort the items by girl for distribution. Please note: that girls with shortages should not receive recognition items. These items need to be returned to the council office.
Look for a 500+ seller list in the next Shout Out newsletter!
