Focus On: Volunteer Leadership Development Organizers
Positions available across the council
If you've heard about the NEW Girl Scout Service Delivery Model, you know that GSKH is improving the way the council delivers Girl Scouting to girls across Kansas, and implementing a new structure designed to meet the needs of volunteers. The new SDM specifies functions for staff and volunteers, at the community, service unit, and area levels, so that girls are best served across the council and volunteer needs are met. Each month in your Connect eNews there will be a highlight of a volunteer position. Keep an eye out for one matching your skills and availability. Don't forget to share opportunities with your non-Girl Scout friends!
There are openings across the council for Volunteer Leadership Development Organizers to work with Volunteer Services Staff on scheduling trainings and coordinating with trainers in their area or service unit. This position will also help coordinate other aspects of volunteer development, including a point person for coordinating new volunteer interviews and mentoring. The position description specifies that this will be a 3-year term, averaging 4-6 hours/month. Are you organized? Love working with adults to help them succeed as Girl Scout volunteers? Contact your MVP Specialist or Holly Slawkowski.

- Take extra cookies along when delivering - you can pull them in wagon!
- Wear Girl Scout apparel or uniforms when delivering and selling cookies.
- Use your vehicle as a billboard to advertise the Cookie Sale, and upcoming booths!
- Use social media to promote your cookie sales.
- Double check your Booth Schedule on SNAP.
- Read over the Booth Sales Guide.
- Draw attention to your booth with posters and decorations, and post your troop or group goals!
