Pearls of Wisdom  Juliette Low

Quick Tips on Celebrating World Thinking Day

Try these when planning your activities:

  • Try foods from around the world.
  • Learn a traditional song or greeting from another country.
  • Host a multi-cultural potluck: each girl is assigned a county and they make a dish from that country.
  • Find a GS troop in another country and become pen pals.

*From Wichita Area Volunteers: Sandy Means, Heather Manganiello, and Melissa Losey

In 1914, Juliette Gordon Low sold her pearls to fund the cost of expanding the Girl Scout movement across the United States. It is a symbol of personal sacrifice and sharing.  Do you have your own pearls of wisdom to share? Send them to Holly Slawkowski

Cookie Order Tips for Cookie Managers

Initial Orders Due In SNAP by Midnight!

Troop Cookie Managers need to enter their troop's initial cookie order on SNAP by Tuesday, February 7 at midnight.  For instructions on how to enter the orders, please refer to the SNAP Guide.

After entering and double-checking the orders, click "commit" on the order screen.  Once you have clicked "commit" you will not be able to make changes, so be sure to only click "save" until you are certain that you have entered all the orders correctly.  If you mistakenly click "commit" and need to make a change, please contact the Product Sales staff to assist you.

If you receive a late order from a Girl Scout after February 7, please notify the Product Sales staff. Arrangements will need to be made to pick up late orders at a Cookie Cupboard Location.

Calling All Campers

We need camping experts at Greensburg

Girl Scouts from across Kansas are descending onto Greensburg, KS April 28-29 for our 100th anniversary celebration. Our Council will be celebrating a century of Girl Scout traditions while including new initiatives and fun activities! The weekend will be packed full of fun games and entertainment, exhibits and booths, educational programs, camping, community service projects and much more! We are encouraging troops and families to CAMP in Greensburg for the weekend.

In order to make sure that camping is available to those interested, but also safe and comfortable for everyone, we are seeking volunteers to serve as master campers for the weekend! If you are currently a GSKH Outdoor Leadership Trainer, or have experience with group camping, this is a great opportunity to use your valuable skills! Please contact Stacy Ward Lattin at (316) 684-6531, or swardlattin@gskh.org.
