Fall Opportunity Sale Wrap-Up

Let's see what Kansas Girl Scouts did!

Congratulations to all the Girl Scouts who participated in the Fall Opportunity Sale!  The girls sold over $1,031,000 of nuts, candies, and magazines. Great job, Girls Scouts!

Cookies Sale is Just Around the Corner

What are your cookie sale training dates?

TMS Girl

Troop Cookie Sale Managers need to attend Cookie Sale Training to learn how to have a successful sale and to receive your Troop's Cookie Sale Materials. Click Here to see which one of our 38 trainings scheduled across the council works for you.

You can register for training online by going to www.kansasgirlscouts.org and then clicking on Ultra Camp Login. You may also RSVP by sending an e-mail to cookies@gskh.org.

Remember, the Cookie Sale starts Saturday, January 21; start planning now by scheduling a Troop Meeting with girls and parents between January 13 and 19 to discuss the Cookie Sale and distribute materials.

Leadership Conferences in Western Kansas

Training just like you want it!

For the second year in a row, the Hays area/Northwest Kansas is hosting a Winter Leadership Conference in place of a "traditional" area meeting. The conference, scheduled for Saturday, December 10 from 8 a.m. - 4:30 p.m., will include hands-on morning workshops on Making your Mark in Girl Scouts, Girl Scout Traditions: A Strong 100 Year Foundation, Beyond the Soup Can and String, Celebrating Self, and Navigating kansasgirlscouts.org. In the afternoon, learn about The New Volunteer Service Delivery Model and Bringing Girl Scouting to Life through our program resources, and then enjoy a session on Cookie Kickoffs!  NWK Leadership Conf 2010

Register online at www.kansasgirlscouts.org by Dec. 1 or contact Lisa Cech at (888) 811-8832. A block of rooms has been established at the Fairfield Inn by Marriott for Friday and Saturday night. Call (785) 625-3344 and mention "Girl Scouts" to receive the discounted price by Dec 1. There will be muffins for breakfast, and a pasta lunch for conference attendees.

Also, we are excited to announce that this year we are also hosting the first Southwest Winter Conference in Garden City, also on Saturday, December 10,from 9 - 3:30. Join us for a day of networking and workshops that will bring new knowledge, insights and fun into both your Girl Scout life and your personal leadership development. There is no charge to attend the conference. A spaghetti lunch will be provided by GS Troop 60017 for $3 or a freewill offering. Registration is required, at www.kansasgirlscouts.org, or contact Danielle Murray at (620) 682-0249.

If you are interested in helping set up a Leadership Conference in your area, please contact your MVP Specialist.

Remember that in other areas of the council, our MVP Team is gearing up for Winter Area Meetings! Area Meetings allow Service Unit teams from each Service Unit to get together to network and receive important council updates. Check out our events page to find out about your upcoming meeting - and to register online. Southeast Kansas is also hosting a leadership conference called S'mores U in early January. Stay tuned for details!

Recognizing Those Who Make It All Happen

Call for Volunteers - 2012 Volunteer Recognition Committee

Over the last several years, volunteer award winners have been selected by regional committees. Beginning this year, volunteer award nominations will be reviewed by one committee, made up of volunteers from across the council. We are currently seeking volunteers who would like to serve on the Volunteer Recognition Committee. This committee will participate in two conference calls, the first in late January or early February, and the second in mid- to late-February, as well as reviewing nominations between those two calls. If you are interested in participating, please contact Holly Slawkowski, Volunteer Services Manager, at hslawkowski@gskh.org.
