Garden City Office Hour ChangesGSUSA

Effective November

Our Girl Scout team in Garden City is facing some scheduling challenges-needing to balance the ability to attend out-of-office meetings with customer needs to have more service and attention while visiting our office. To put it quite simply, they can't be in two places at once. In order to meet both needs, the team has decided to try a solution that will give staff more freedom and flexibility to be out-of-office, and give customers the amenities they need when they're in the office.

Beginning on Tuesday, Nov. 1, the Garden City Girl Scout office, located at 114 Grant Avenue, will maintain office hours on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays, and be open by appointment only on Tuesdays and Thursdays (closed to walk-in traffic). This will be a on a trial basis for six months until staff can determine if it is the best solution. We realize this may be a concern to some of our members, but it is increasingly important for our membership, volunteer and community development staff to be visible in both the Garden City community and the surrounding region, and this isn't possible if they are required to be in the office.

To make an appointment for the Garden City office on Tuesdays or Thursdays, please call (620) 276-7061. We also offer the convenience of shopping online 24/7!
Fall Opportunity Sale

It is not too late for magazines!

Girls can sell magazines through the American Publishers (AP) website until November 13 and receive credit for the sales. Just give the girls in your troop the troop's online magazine web code, so they can send e-mails to friends and family through the AP website (

100 Things

If they have already sent emails through AP, they can now send a reminder because sometimes emails  land in Junk/Spam  folders. Girls can simply send an email through the AP website to their own email address and then forward the email to their friends and family with a personal message. The link to the online shopping site works even when an email is forwarded. Call your local office with questions.

100 ThingsSee N' Sell in Salina

Come join the fun!

Girl Scouts of Kansas Heartland will host the 45th Annual See N' Sell Arts and Crafts show on Saturday, Nov 19 at the Salina Bicentennial Center. The doors will open at 8 a.m. and the show will run through 4 p.m. The first 100 ticket holders through the door will receive a free goody bag filled with lots of great items and See N' Sell bucks that have a cash value at the vendor booths.

The See N' Sell Arts and Crafts show will feature over 200 exhibitors of homemade art, crafts, and food items. Again this year, the show will include a "commercial" section featuring items such as cosmetics, educational children's toys, purses, and more. There are still a limited number of booths available for this year's show. Proceeds from the show go to support Girl Scout programming across the council.

For more information or advance tickets, contact the Girl Scout office at 1-800-888-0872 or 785-827-3679. You may also visit the Salina office at 3115 Enterprise Drive, Ste. C.

It's Cookie Time!

Just a Reminder!

Cookie Credits

Don't forget about Cookie Credits! Girls who sold more than 30 boxes of cookies in 2011 earned cookie credits, which can be used towards items from the council shop, event registrations (even the 100th Anniversary Event), and council-approved troop trips. Cookie Credits must be used by November 15, 2011! If you have questions about Cookie Credits, visit Cookie Credit 411 or contact your local office.
