The Great Kindness Challenge Success!!! |
Our 3rd Annual Great Kindness Challenge was a HUGE success!!! At least 50 countries, spanning six continents, participated in this beautiful day of giving, loving, helping and sharing. From Australia to Zimbabwe, children took the "challenge" and smiled at new friends, brought cookies to firefighters, left hearts on cars, hosted lemonade stands for charity, and much more.
This year we had many partners who helped spread the word and inspire kids to participate. We are gratfeul to them all and especially Kids Care Clubs, YMCA's, Campfire Girls, Me to We, Be Good to People, Surfrider and more.
We thank our very generous sponsors who helped make this event possible. Thank you Hasbro, Southwest Airlines, Kind Bars, CRT/tanaka, Envisager Studio and Hay House.
Finally, it is with GREAT gratitude that we thank Rick Moore, our "King of Kindness" for being such an amazing leader, visionary and director of the Great Kindness Challenge. Rick's kind and worthy leadership made this day a beautiful success.

Greetings!
Every season brings new joy and more opportunities to uplift our world through love and action. This summer has been no exception! With our Kids for Peace trip to Africa, Chapter Leaders' training in San Diego, and our Great Kindness Challenge all over the world, this has been one fruitful summer!
I hope you find this good news inspiring and informative. This is all made possible thanks to our incredible volunteers, supporters, sponsors, partners and most of all our children. Together, we are making a positively beautiful difference.
With Peace and Gratitude,
Jill McManigal

Kids for Peace Goes to Africa |

We made friends everywhere we went!
|
A group of seven children and adults traveled to Kenya and Tanzania to launch our Global Friends On the Go...Africa project. Two magical weeks were filled with visiting schools and orphanages, giving gifts of Peace Packs, learning about each other's cultures, offering a helping hand, playing lots of "football" and exploring the joys of friendship. Our hearts were full from the pure and innocent beauty we encountered throughout this glorious land.
We anticipated a wonderful adventure, but we were very surprised to find ourselves forging lifelong friendships, starting four new Kids for Peace chapters and supporting our first Kids for Peace school in the Masai Mara. We are thrilled to welcome our new friends to our Kids for Peace family.
Stay tuned for a documentary film about this life-affirming journey. Our very own teen filmmaker, Zane Timpson, will premiere his film in September. Expect to see happiness personified, magnificent animals in the wild, triumphant cheers on Mt. Kilimanjaro and beaming smiles galore!

Kids for Peace Leaders' Training |
KfP Leaders Gather from All Over the World
Thanks to a very generous donation from Southwest Airlines, Kids for Peace leaders flew to San Diego from all parts of the USA and even Dominican Republic and Canada. Thirty-five men and women gathered for an inspiring weekend filled with training, connection, motivation, and lots of love.
The weekend was kicked off on Friday night with a delightful Happy Hour event hosted by the Kids for Peace Board of Directors. Saturday was a full day of training, learning, brainstorming and sharing of ideas at the New World Leadership Children's Academy. The cooperative games, goody bags, delicious food and abundance of laughter kept the day lively and enjoyable. Sunday started with a beautiful breakfast complete with closing ceremony and reflection. An invigorating hike overlooking the ocean concluded the weekend's activities.
Tears were shed as leaders said good bye to each other on Sunday. The connections, friendships and support systems formed will go far to fuel the important work our leaders are doing. Our leaders are an amazing group of talented, generous, visionary, vivacious and dynamic men and women. What an honor it is to have them provide the space and support for our children to be the natural peacebuilders they are. Thank you, Kids for Peace Leaders! Thank you!!!
Our peacefully powerful Kids for Peace Leaders shine! Our leaders had a blast on our Sunday morning ocean hike. |
Hello Peace Lovers! My name is Taylor Lara, a Kids for Peace intern. It has been an amazing year working with Kids for Peace, and I cannot wait for what is to come. I have helped with multiple Kids for Peace meetings and events, such as the Great Kindness Challeng and helping create Peace Packs. I am also currently helping with the publication of the second Kids for Peace book, which I am very excite about. I love everything that the organization does, especially because I love working with kids and plan to have my career involve children. It is astounding how genuine the kids are and how they truly want to help bring peace to the world. I am an incoming senior at San Dieguito Academy in California, where I am actively involved in theater and debate. And of course, just like any other teenager, I love soaking up the rays at the beach and hanging out with friends. I can't wait to continue on working with Kids for Peace, and hope to do so through college and beyond. |
