Phoenix, AZ - September, 2009 - The Hispanic Women's Conference, the largest conference in the country dedicated to Latina professionals announces their Chica-Lit panel as part of this year's conference workshops. This year's Hispanic Women's Conference will take place October 1-2, 2009 at the Phoenix Convention Center- South in downtown Phoenix, AZ.
"The conference is not just about highlighting the corporate leaders within our Latina sisters, it's also about highlighting the achievements of Latinas in the arts," says Hispanic Women's Corporation CEO Linda Mazon Gutierrez. "Each year we feature one of a kind artwork by Latina artist Laura Lopez Cano and this year we're also looking to our accomplished literary Latinas for an informative workshop on Chica-Lit."
The Chica-Lit workshop, where panelists will discuss the writing process --challenges and inspirations-- from concept through publication will take place as part of the conference on Oct 1st. Panelists will include three nationally recognized authors; two-time Pulitzer Prize winning author Liz Balmaseda, leading Latin Music expert, novelist and co-author of the Billboard Illustrated Encyclopedia of Music Leila Cobo, and award winning novelist Fabiola Santiago.
Immediately following the workshop the authors will take part in a book signing in the Latina Expo Hall. The book signing is co-hosted by Las Comadres Latina Book Club.
The literary workshop is part of a larger national conference. The 24th Annual Hispanic Women's Conference: Rising to Service and Change is the largest conference in the country addressing the needs of the Latina professional. Over 2 days conference attendees will be able to attend a variety of workshops aimed at professional and personal development. Other noted key figures of the conference include this year's award honorees: Miss Arizona 2009 and 2nd runner up Miss America 2009 Alicia-Monique Blanco, Nely Galan (the Swan, the Apprentice), Secretary of the Dept of Labor Hon. Hilda Solis. A special invitation has also been extended to First Lady, Michelle Obama. |

Also taking part in the book signing is RichWoman author, Kim Kiyosaki. A self-made millionaire, Kim is a happily married (but fiercely independent) woman, and often travels and speaks with her husband Robert Kiyosaki,  author of Rich Dad Poor Dad. Her first book, Rich Woman, was a Business Week bestseller, and is one of the top 50 best-selling personal finance books of all time.

Figuras literarias Latinas - parte del elenco en la Conferencia 2009 para la Mujer Hispana
La Conferencia para la Mujer Hispana, la conferencia más grande en el país dedicada a la mujer latina profesional anuncia su mesa redonda Chica-Lit. Este año, la Conferencia para la Mujer Hispana se celebrará el 1 y el 2 de octubre, 2009 en el Centro de Convenciones Sur, en el centro de la ciudad.
"La conferencia no es simplemente para destacar a las líderes en el ámbito de los negocios entre nuestras hermanas latinas, sino también para destacar los logros de las latinas en las artes," informa la CEO de la Asociación para la Mujer Hispana (conocida en inglés por, Hispanic Women's Corporation) Linda Mazón Gutiérrez. "Cada año mostramos trabajos artísticos singulares por la artista Latina, Laura López Cano. Este año invitamos a unas brillantes latinas en el ámbito literario para presentar un taller informativo sobre Chica-Lit."
El taller Chica-Lit, donde las panelistas expondrán acerca del proceso de escribir, los retos e inspiraciones, desde el concepto hasta su publicación, formará parte de la conferencia el 1º de octubre. Las panelistas incluirán a tres autoras de renombre nacional; a la autora ganadora de dos Premios Pulitzer, Liz Balmaseda, a la mayor experta de música latina, novelista y co-autora de la Enciclopedia Ilustrada Billboard, Leila Cobo, y la novelista apremiada Fabiola Santiago. Inmediatamente después del taller, las autoras tomarán parte en una sesión para firmar libros en el Salón de Exhibiciones Latina. El club de lectores, Las Comadres Latina Book Club será co-anfitrión de la sesión de firma de libros de autoras.
El taller literario es parte de una conferencia nacional mayor. La 24ª Conferencia Anual para la Mujer Hispana, con el lema: Poder de la Latina: Ascenso al Servicio y al Cambio es la conferencia más grande en el país que se enfoca en la latina profesional. Durante el transcurso de dos días, participantes podrán asistir a una variedad de talleres destinados al desarrollo personal y profesional. Otras personajes de renombre que figurarán en la conferencia incluyen las galardonadas, Miss Arizona 2009 y 3er lugar en Miss America 2009, Alicia Monique Blanco, Nely Galán (The Swan, y The Apprentice), la Secretaria del Depto de Trabajo, la Hon.
