Hello again.  Thank you for your interest and involvement as we move into the final preparations for the 12th Annual Party in the Park.  I hope you are looking forward to this year's outstanding event program  as much as I am.  This will be a truly magical night and I hope you will share the word with your family, friends and community.  It would be great to have them there. 

 

Many exciting things are happening for RIS, including the development of medical and community education initiatives.  You will have the chance to learn more at this year's Party.  I ask that you read through this Insider and sign up, to join in supporting the RIS mission that means so much.  With your help, the 2012 Party will be a great success.  As we go, we continue to build our community.  I look forward to seeing you.  Christin.

Volunteers,  we need your help to make  "Party in the Park 2012 " a great success ! 

Volunteers 2011
With less than three weeks to go before the 2012 Party in the Park, we still have many volunteer positions open.  All are Fun and Important and all will provide you a wonderful volunteer experience. Volunteers are needed in shifts starting about noon through clean-up after the close of the "Party" around 11:00 pm. We know that many of you plan to help us, and ask that you sign up now so we can finalize our plans!

We need help in event and auction set-up, the sarcoma family picnic, event registration,silent auction, children's arcade,  merchandise, luminaries, sarcoma corner, hosting, and more. You are also welcome to sign up for Pre-Party activities including:
- Silent Auction Staging - Tuesday, July 17th - 2:00 pm at Wyckoff's - Layout this year's Silent Auction Items on tables so we can roll out the items at the "Party".
- Like Us on our new Facebook Page and invite others to join!
- and invite them to volunteer!

Auction2011 Auction Items Needed! - It's Fun and Easy!

Our Silent Auction is shaping up to be truly wonderful with over $19,000 worth of auction items already received! Donations to date include: Vacations, restaurant and retail gift certificates, electronics, children's baskets, fine art and jewelry, books, wine and liquor, and much, much more.

There is still time for you to join in, to help us reach our goal for this year's Auction.  We'd really appreciate that support, since the Auction serves as a major pillar to support the RIS mission you care so much about.  Will your neighborhood restaurant offer a gift card?  Would you host a fabulous evening in your home for 6 or 8?  Could you assemble a fun theme basket to fire up the bidding?  Perhaps your family and friends would contribute as well.  We have lots of terrific ideas to get you started, along with the forms you need and several Twin Cities drop off locations.  Please click here for information and tools. $4,500 in prizes on our 2012 RIS Raffle!

Raffle tickets are now available for the 2012 Party in the Park Raffle. The Grand Prize is an 8 day condo vacation in Big Sky Montana, 1st Prize is $1,000 in cash and second prize is the brand new Retina iPad! Or you could even win a round of golf for two at the award winning Rush Creek Golf course.  Tickets are just $5! Call or email our Raffle Chairperson, Connie Dow ((612) 986-8876) to buy or order RIS Raffle Tickets to sell to all your friends, relatives and colleagues. Each year, a few dedicated volunteers sell scores of tickets each.  We'd love to have your help, and your family and friends won't want to miss this opportunity. They sell like hotcakes. Hot Enough?  Help Us Keep Cool!
Cooler
We need coolers to station around the grounds.  Do you have a cooler or two you could bring?  If you do, please let Christin know by Clicking here..  Even better, will you stock that cooler with a case or two of water to help our partiers quench their thirst?  Please let Christin know that as well.  (Please don't worry about ice.  You needn't include that - blue ice will be provided.)  Early responses would be appreciated.  Someone will follow up to tell you where to bring the cooler on event day.  Thank you!
