Garden of Hope-2 One Beautiful Party

On July 25, 2011, more than 1,500 people gathered to celebrate life, honor loss and support the Karen Wyckoff Rein in Sarcoma Foundation.  This was the biggest event yet!

A fitting tribute to that first July evening ten years ago, when Karen brought together a few hundred friends, family members and sarcoma patients.  She began weaving a community fabric that has grown beautifully and nourished us all.

Revisit the Party: The gorgeous sunshine mirrored your hearts. The event appears to have raised over $75,000 for the RIS mission.  We thank you sincerely.  Revisit the evening with a report, here

Christin GarciaSpeaking of Stories,

We'd love to share yours.  People come to the RIS website to find community.  Don't you?  It's amazing the hope that can be found when the words "synovial sarcoma," for example, are linked with a smiling face and a living body.  Or the comfort that can be taken when you realize that however big your battle or however deep your loss, you are not alone.  Sometimes, you need to know this in the middle of the night, while sitting in your kitchen.  To increase the chances that just the right words will be available for the uniquely seeking heart, please consider offering your story

RIS Fall GatheringInspiration
What do you do to feed your soul?  Souls need nourishment too, of course.  Souls too become weak when they go long without food, sick when they are subjected to poison.  Remember to seek good things for your spirit.  Gather with friends, soak in the moonlight, dip your toes in the lake.  Discover poetry, devour scripture.  Mostly though, you could do this:  practice kindness.

Our goals are to fund research that may find a cure for sarcoma cancers, to provide education for medical personnel and the public, and to support patients and their loved ones.  We are an all-volunteer non-profit organization, which allows over 97% of our revenues to directly support our mission!
