Dr. Kathryn Dusenbery
Dr. Katie Dusenbery:  "Karen was my patient"

University of Minnesota Professor and Radiation Oncologist Katie Dusenbery has been involved with the Karen Wyckoff Rein in Sarcoma Foundation from the start.  After all, she tells us, "Karen was my patient."  She appreciates the support RIS provides for her other patients and looks for ways the physicians can say thank you in return.  A founding board member, Dr. Dusenbery has focused on the education aspect of RIS' mission.  She loves introducing medical students to oncology.  Each time she does, there is "one more person who knows how wonderful cancer patients are."

Please share her enthusiasm for practicing medicine, educating doctors and caring for cancer patients by clicking here.

Eric S 2010
Eric Skogman and the Zahlers
In Memorium

You may have noticed our articles about the 3rd Annual Mud Dogs Ride.  The original ride, arranged by Eric Skogman in 2008, became the first RIS named fund.  Many others have followed Eric's example, rallying their friends and family to support our mission.  Eric's inspiration extended far beyond his fundraisers.  He loved his work with RIS and we loved him.  It is with deep sadness that we inform you of his passing, last month, at the age of 41.

You may read read more about Eric here.

K O'Keefe 2010Inspiration...

Someone once said that deep gratitude requires great courage.  Maybe this is so.  I know that true gratitude may transform your life.  Who is the Author of your life?  Whose work do you value?  What makes you sparkle?  Who makes you smile?  Name these blessings, for yourself.

Then offer thanks.
