A Unique Opportunity and a Special Invitation November 17, 2009

GiveMN.org LogoToday is a unique day for giving in Minnesota.
From 8:00 am today (Tuesday, Nov 17) until 8:00 am tomorrow (Wednesday, November 18) you have a great opportunity to have your donation to Rein in Sarcoma, or hundreds of other Minnesota charities, matched from a $500,000 from a matching gift.  Every donation made to Rein in Sarcoma and other participating charities today through Give to the Max Day will receive a portion of the $500,000 one day match.*

On this day of giving, we hope you will think of Rein In Sarcoma and you will take advantage of this online matching gift program available only for gifts made through the GiveMN.org..

GiveMN partners are also paying the transaction costs for gifts made to Minnesota nonprofits through GiveMN on Give to the Max Day. These generous funds allow 100 percent of your gift to go straight to Rein in Sarcoma and other impornat charities!

GiveMN.org is the smart way for you to discover, support and engage with the charities that are right for you. The online giving platform allows you to find and support organizations that match your philanthropic goals and easily keep track of your donations all in a single online location.

As you consider a year end donation to Rein in Sarcoma think of these "incentives" to donate and donate now:
  • Your donation to Rein In Sarcoma will also be matched dollar for dollar by the Katherine B. Anderson Fund of the St. Paul Foundation up to their maximum commitment of $15,000.
  • As a special bonus, if you are able to donate $100 or more before the end of the year will be eligible to attend the first ever RIS Sarcoma Mini Medical School at the University of Minnesota on February 6th.  However space is limited to the first twenty requests, so make your donation and request ASAP. To learn more, click here.
  • Consider giving to Rein in Sarcoma on Give to the Max Day.  This will provide a special one day match of all additional dollars donated to Rein in Sarcoma as well as other participating charities that you designate.
To max your contribution to Rein In Sarcoma make an online donation today (Nov. 17) or before 8:00 am tomorrow (Nov 18) by going to GiveMN.org and click on Rein in Sarcoma. You can also apply for the RIS Mini Medical School by indicating your desire under the "add a designation" option on the RIS/GiveMN donation form.
____________________________________________
* This means the exact amount matched per dollar donated will be determined after Give to the Max Day concludes. Individual donation transactions greater than $2,500 will be eligible for matching gifts up to $2,500 only. For example, if a donor makes a $2,500 donation to an organization, the full $2,500 will be eligible to receive a portion of the matching funds. If instead she donated $10,000 to an organization, only $2,500 would be eligible to receive a portion of the matching dollars.

Examples of how the matching dollars will work: if Give to the Max Day inspires $500,000 in donations, we will provide $1 in matching funds per dollar donated to an organization; if Give to the Max Day inspires $2,000,000 in donations, it will provide $.25 in matching funds per dollar donated to an organization.
