Porsche has become the first car manufacture in the world to offer a starter battery in lithium-ion technology.  Weighing less that 13 lbs, the new battery is more than 22 lb lighter that a conventional 60 Ah lead battery.  It was available from January for the 911 GT3, 911 GT 3 RS, and Boxster Spyder as an option delivered with the car, selling at a price in the German market equivalent to US $2,820 according to the Import Automotive Parts & Accessories Jan/Feb 2010 issue

Reader's Digest reports that within two years we can "look for cheaper, longer lasting batteries, powered by...air!  As a result, says the Economist, your cell phone may soon be even smaller and lighter."

EOD Serviceman Banner

I am a proud Blue Star Mom.  Our oldest son Mark is on his 3rd deployment to "the sandbox".  What quickly became a household term for us after Mark joined the Air Force six years ago, is now a common term to many of you, thanks to the award winning movie, Hurt Locker.  All I have to say is that Mark is an EOD tech and people knowingly shake their heads.

Mark asked me to make an item to be auctioned for the EOD Memorial Foundation Fund.  The proceeds go to a scholarship fund for dependents of EOD techs who have made the ultimate sacrifice.  When attending the annual function in the past, Mark noted that items relating directly to EOD raised a considerable amount more, so I chose to incorporate the EOD "crab" into my Blue Star Servicemen's banner.

What people are saying about Dan's
"Thanks to Dan's Auto, I saved $165 on a new battery,  My car wouldn't start or take a charge so I assumed the battery was dead.  I took it to Dan's and asked for a replacement battery because I know that Dan sells the best batteries in town and I needed a big one.  Dan tested my battery with his high end equipment and showed in that it was running at 99% after a good clean up which he performed himself.  Dan also showed me how to clean my terminals to make my battery work again.  And just like he said, it worked perfectly on the first try.  Thanks Dan for saving me the price of a new battery.  Every other place I've been to would sell me a new battery and be done with it.  Dan's careful attention to detail has saved me money when money is tight."
