The Power of a Trail
Interesting stat of the month:

One of the infrared counters we have along the trail in James City County recorded 6,000 users last month.

Wonder what will happen when the Sherwood Forest phase is complete, from James City County all the way to Charles City Courthouse? Stay tuned...

Richmond Trailhead Project
The Virginia Capital Trail Foundation is very excited to announce a $50,000 grant award from the Mary Morton Parson's Foundation.  This money will go towards the Richmond trailhead project, to be constructed at Shiplock Park in downtown Richmond.  We're excited to be able to add a significant enhancement along the Richmond phase.  Shiplock Park is a beautiful part of the city, between the historic James River and Kanawha Canal, and Tobacco Row.  Thanks to our partnership with the Mary Morton Parson's Foundation, we hope to make Shiplock Park a highlight along the Richmond riverfront and a crown jewel of the Virginia Capital Trail.
