Alyza Commareri earns Degree with help from WLI
For the last 4 years, Alyza Commareri, a Lead Teacher for Head Start, has been attending classes at night to earn her Bachelors Degree in Education from East Stroudsburg University. It would not have happened with out help from a scholarship through the Women's Leadership Initiative (WLI) an initiative of the United Way of the Greater Lehigh Valley. "I have wanted to continue my education for years, but it was hard because I have a son now and work full time. This program allows for me to take classes part time at night and be closer to home so I can spend more quality time with my son. It is amazing how my life has come full circle. I am back at the same college and working for the same organization that I did my internship. I feel that I am very lucky to have this opportunity to continue on with my education to extend my personal and professional growth."
