AVANCE Unlocking America's Potential Project
AVANCE, Inc. provides innovative education and family support services to predominantly Hispanic families in low-income, at-risk communities throughout the United States. Their Unlocking America's Potential Project (UAPP) seeks to expand the AVANCE evidence-based Parent-Child Education Program across the country. State Farm ® Good Neighbor YOUth In The Driver Seat Grants
Learning to drive is one of the most exciting milestones in a teen's life. To support teens and their teachers in this rite of passage, Youth Service America (YSA) and State Farm ® are offering $1,500 YOUth in the Driver Seat Grants to implement a service-learning program that encourages safe driving habits, community service, and student achievement. Participating teachers and their students will engage in a 12-to-14 week Semester of Service™ between January and April 2013, focused on teen driver safety. Educators will attend a one-day training prior to beginning the program, to learn about its elements and expectations and to network with their peers from around the country who are also implementing the program. Educators also receive ongoing consultation from YSA, to help design programs that promote academic achievement, 21st Century student outcomes, and stronger communities. This grant opportunity is open to teachers and students in public high schools in all fifty US states, the District of Columbia, and in the Canadian provinces of Alberta, Ontario and New Brunswick.

United HealthCare HEROES Service-Learning Grants
UnitedHealthcare invites schools and other community-based nonprofit organizations to Step into Service by applying for UnitedHealth HEROES grants. Grants of up to $1,000 are available for youth-led service-learning projects which aim to combat childhood obesity through walking, running or hiking programs. Project proposals for UnitedHealth HEROES grants must include an activity element where young people can count their steps, as well as a service component which provides direct service, enables advocacy on behalf of a cause, or features youth philanthropy. UnitedHealth HEROES project will begin on the Martin Luther King, Jr. Day of Service, January 21, 2013, and end on Global Youth Service Day (GYSD), April 26-28, 2013.

Schools or organizations that plan to garden with at least 15 children between the ages of 3 and 18 are eligible for the 2012 Health Sprouts Awards. The selection of winners is based on the demonstrated relationship between the garden program and education related to environmental, nutrition and hunger issues in the United States. Awards will be presented to 50 schools or organizations. Recreational Grants for Golf Programs
The United States Golf Association (USGA) and the National Alliance for Accessible Golf have teamed up to provide grants that encourage increased accessibility for golfers with disabilities.
