SAFE Fall Mini-Grants
The supplemental SAFE mini-grant program is designed to empower residents to organize, plan for, and create a better quality of life in their neighborhoods. Focused on crime and safety activities, SAFE provides supplemental financial assistance to community-based organizations for resident-initiated vacant property maintenance and neighborhood security efforts. Grant awards typically range between $1,000 - $5,000. For this round of funding, mini-grants will be available for community-based, resident led organizations located and operating in the greater downtown area of Detroit bounded by Clairmont to the north, the Detroit River to the south, Linwood to the west, and E. Grand Blvd. to the east.

VA Supportive Services for Veteran Families Program
The Supportive Services for Veteran Families (SSVF) Program provides grants to private non-profit organizations and consumer cooperatives that coordinate or provide supportive services to enhance the housing stability of very low-income Veteran families. This includes Veteran families who are are residing in permanent housing, homeless and scheduled to become residents of permanent housing, or have exited permanent housing and are seeking other housing.

Gladys Marinelli Coccia Awards
The Gladys Marinelli Coccia Award honors the late Mrs. Gladys Marinelli Coccia (1915-2007). The grandmother of Youth Service America (YSA) board member Brian Murrow, Gladys was well known in the Washington, D.C. Italian-American business community as the owner and operator of Marinelli's Delicatessen, which she established in 1962 and managed for 30 years. In her honor, the Gladys Marinelli Coccia Awards recognize exceptional young people, ages 13 to 22, who are actively engaged in social entrepreneurship and in leading sustainable social change. Two honorees will be selected and will receive $2,000 to support their social enterprise, as well as resources and technical assistance from YSA.

Kids In Need Teacher Grants
Kids In Need Teacher grants provide K-12 educators with funding to provide innovative learning opportunities for their students. State Farm ® Good Neighbor YOUth In The Driver Seat Grants
Learning to drive is one of the most exciting milestones in a teen's life. To support teens and their teachers in this rite of passage, Youth Service America (YSA) and State Farm ® are offering $1,500 YOUth in the Driver Seat Grants to implement a service-learning program that encourages safe driving habits, community service, and student achievement. Participating teachers and their students will engage in a 12-to-14 week Semester of Service™ between January and April 2013, focused on teen driver safety. Educators will attend a one-day training prior to beginning the program, to learn about its elements and expectations and to network with their peers from around the country who are also implementing the program. Educators also receive ongoing consultation from YSA, to help design programs that promote academic achievement, 21st Century student outcomes, and stronger communities. This grant opportunity is open to teachers and students in public high schools in all fifty US states, the District of Columbia, and in the Canadian provinces of Alberta, Ontario and New Brunswick.

United HealthCare HEROES Service-Learning Grants
UnitedHealthcare invites schools and other community-based nonprofit organizations to Step into Service by applying for UnitedHealth HEROES grants. Grants of up to $1,000 are available for youth-led service-learning projects which aim to combat childhood obesity through walking, running or hiking programs. Project proposals for UnitedHealth HEROES grants must include an activity element where young people can count their steps, as well as a service component which provides direct service, enables advocacy on behalf of a cause, or features youth philanthropy. UnitedHealth HEROES project will begin on the Martin Luther King, Jr. Day of Service, January 21, 2013, and end on Global Youth Service Day (GYSD), April 26-28, 2013.

Citi Foundation Grants Support Affordable Housing, High School Success
The Citi Foundation supports affordable housing efforts, neighborhood revitalization, and programs to help high schoolers find a college or career path. The foundation also supports microfinance institutions and other nonprofit organizations seeking to increase the supply of asset building financial products and services. As part of this effort, the foundation seeks to identify innovative efforts that enhance an institution's ability to achieve scale and financial sustainability and support consumer's asset building goals. Recreational Grants for Golf Programs
The United States Golf Association (USGA) and the National Alliance for Accessible Golf have teamed up to provide grants that encourage increased accessibility for golfers with disabilities. These grants will support organizations that introduce the game of golf to people who otherwise would not have the opportunity -- specifically kids from economically disadvantaged backgrounds. To administer the grant application process for organizations providing golf programs to individuals with disabilities, the USGA has partnered with the National Alliance for Accessible Golf. The Alliance is particularly interested in applications that demonstrate focus on inclusion of people with disabilities in programs that involve those without disabilities, with the ultimate goal of enhancing their inclusion into the fabric of the community.
