September/October 2010 - Special Edition
HfH Logo
Greetings!

I realize this newsletter is being delivered later than normal. So much has been occuring within our ministry that I have purposely delayed updating you until things were settled and we had a clearer picture of what the coming months would look like. At last we feel that we are at a place at which we can effectively bring you up to speed regarding the future of Hope for Home Ministries. So, this newsletter is a special edition that is dedicated to that endeavor.

First, our family will be moving to Guatemala in January to open Hogar de la Esperanza. Although our home has not yet sold we have felt a very clear direction from God to proceed in faith. The details of the move are detailed below, and if you would like to read more about how God has brought us to this decision, you can click here to read my blog entry on the topic.

Second, along with this transition comes a change in our US ministries.  Read below what these changes will look like, including address and phone contacts, an understanding of our ongoing public speaking ministry, and more.

And finally, God has expanded our vision for Guatemala beyond just the opening of Hogar de la Esperanza. We want to not just address the the needs of orphans, but also the issues that lead to the loss of their families. So, through the development of village ministries we hope to provide relief and assistance to families to enable children to stay in their homes while addressing the spiritual needs of the communities.

So, strap on your seatbelts and read on! And as you do, remember how grateful we are for your prayers and support which make it all possible!

US Ministries Changing Shape
With our family's move to Guatemala there will be some significant changes to our ministry here in the Unites States. While we will continue to provide a quality speaking ministry that educates believers regarding the needs of international orphans and the biblical mandate to care for them, it will be done by a volunteer team of speakers. Each of these speakers are men of God who love the Lord and who have adopted international children with special needs.

In addition, the Fulp family will be available to address your congregation from their ministry in Guatemala via teleconference through Skype. If you church has a computer in the worship center, internet access, and a projection screen your congregation can see our home, meet the children for which we will be caring, and hear updates on our ministry. In addition, Daryl could even deliver a sermon when desired. You can have a front row seat to our ministry in Guatemala.

Along with these changes also comes a change in Hope for Home contact information. Effective January 12th you can reach us the following ways:

Rural Village Ministry in Guatemala
Village children 2Over the last several months God has been expanding Hope for Home's vision for our new ministry in Guatemala. What began as simply a family-based group home for children with special needs has become a desire to also address the cause of orphaned children within that country. Simply put, much of the orphan crisis is caused, not by the death of parents, but by circumstances that cause families to be unable to care for their children. This is especially true of families that have children with special needs and cannot afford to provide the necessary medical treatment they need.

It is our desire to develop 4-wheel drive teams who will travel to rural villages and help in Jesus' name. Each team will be equipped with basic medical skills and supplies, medicine, water filters, and food supplied by sponsoring families. By providing these needs we hope to save lives and enable children to remain with their families who would otherwise have to leave and live in institutions.

Our prayer is to have our first team in place within our first year on the ground, and five teams in place within ten years, but we will need God's miraculous provision for that to occur. Will you please join us in praying for the people, funds, and vehicles we need to see this vision become reality?
Pastor Training Program in Guatemala
BibleAs we work to touch the physical needs of the Guatemalan people, we do not want to forget the greatest need of all...their need to know Jesus. Our desire, above all else, is to lead people into a personal relationship with Jesus Christ.

As a result, God has led us to work toward developing a pastor training program and low or no cost to Guatemalan men who feel God's call to ministry but do not have the resources to obtain the education to become a minister. Our desire is to teach these disciples the Word of God, disciple-making skills, and equip them to plant churches in rural villages. As they are ready, these men will travel with our 4 wheel drive teams and minister with them and use the developing relationship to establish churches in each village and train men to lead them.

Already God is raising up people who feel God's call to lead this ministry, and we are excited about the potential of this vision. There is a huge openness to the gospel and that openness will increase as we model the love of Christ to the families.

Our desire it to have a man on the ground leading this program within the next two years. Would you please partner with us by praying for the development of this ministry and the right people to lead it?
An Excellent Resource for Adoptive Families
R4A
Adoptive families can face countless questions and significant challenges as the proceed through the adoption process. At Hope for Home we seek to remove the fear and uncertainty and walk with families through those issues. One of the ways we do that is by linking them to helpful resources.

One of those resources is Resources 4 Adoption. This is a wonderful Web site that can coach families through their adoption, connect them with a community of other adoptive parents, and provide them with an up-to-date listing of grant agencies that can provide financial assistance with their adoption.

If you are currently in the process of adoption or are considering it, you need to spend some time on this site. It is one of the most helpful resources we have discovered!
Pray for Anastasiya
AnastasiyaName: Anastasiya
Sex: Female
Age:
3 years
Country: Eastern Europe
Special need(s): Down syndrome, atrial septal defect (needs surgery), strabismus, undernourished

SIGNIFICANT RISK, PLEASE ADOPT ME SOON!!

Anastasiya is a darling little girl with brown hair and brown eyes.     She has been stuck in a crib for most of her life and needs a family to get her OUT!
Regrettably, her orphanage is one of the poorer ones, with very little outside aid and very little hope.    All of the children are tiny and undernourished.  These children are immediately transferred at age four, and have little chance of survival where they are sent.  All of our waiting children need families, but these have a critical need.  Please consider one of these children soon!!

For more information on Anastasiya click here or visit

Please prayerfully consider giving Anastasiya a home...your home!
