| Greetings! |
As I write these words our country is preparing to celebrate its birthday with raised flags, picnics, and fireworks. And as we enjoy the festivities we have an opportunity to reflect on who we are, what we have done, and what we are becoming.
These days it is easy to reflect on what is wrong within our borders, and there is no shortage of those who want to do so. A struggling economy, a war on the unborn, multiple international conflicts, and a barrage of bad news can turn the most devout optimist into a pessimist. However, as someone who has regularly traveled internationally, I want to take a moment and list a few things that are great about America:
- We live in prosperity that enables even the poor to have housing, clothing, food, and assistance.
- We have access to the best medical care in the world, including innoculations, antibiotics, and quality hospitals.
- We have clean drinking water that flows freely from our taps and does not expose us to deadly parasites and bacteria.
-
We have freedom of speech and assembly that allows us to speak out against injustice and readily exchange ideas (unlike China, Iran, North Korea, and others).
-
We have freedom to live out our faith and ready access to the gospel and the Word of God.
-
We value our children (after birth), the elderly, and the disabled to a greater degree than the majority of the globe and they therefore experience a much higher standard of living.
I could go on, but you get the idea. We experience a quality of living above and beyond the majority of our world. And with those blessings comes great responsibility to use that prosperity to touch the world around us.
One way we do so is through international adoption. Through that process we do something far greater than bringing a child into a wonderful country...we bring them into a family.
For those who have given the gift of adoption to a child...THANK YOU! For those who have not, would you please prayerfully consider doing so?
Have a wonderful Independence Day! | |

| Support Hope for Home By Shopping Online |
|
In our last newsletter we shared with you how you could support Hope for Home by using GoodSearch as your primary search engine. Many of you have made the switch and we appreciate it. But did you know that you can also do your regular online shopping through GoodSearch and help raise money for the ministry as well?
The program is called GoodShop and partners with over 850 online retailers to arrange for a percentage of your purchase to be shared with our ministry. This percentage varies from .5% up to 40%. In addition, many of these retailer offer a discount coupon if you shop through GoodShop. Here are just a few of the retailers with whom you can shop:

So here is how you can shop for Hope for Home:
- Go to www.goodsearch.com.
- In the "Who Do You GoodSearch For?" window, type "Hope for Home Ministries"
then click "Verify."
- Click on "Shop Now" in the GoodShop area.
- Search for your store or choose it from the drop down menu.
- Then click on "GoodShop this Store."
- A new browser window will open that will have the normal online store's Web site. Shop as normal from that window and we will receive a percentage.

Pray for Ernesto |
|
Ernie is from Mexico and has tremendous potential. He has shown some signs of self-aggression, but these behaviors have been greatly reduced since he was provided his own "foster mom" at the children's home and has benefited from more one on one attention. He is tiny for his age, but doing well physically. He was found abandoned and there is no knowledge of any parents or other relatives.
He goes to CREE where he receives treatment with a neurologist & rehabilitation. He is receiving treatment at the Rafaela Arganiz School which specializes in Down Syndrome.
Please note that Ernesto is at significant risk and will likely be declared unadoptable if he does not find a home soon!
