Greetings!

Nigerian ChildWe have just finished celebrating the two holiest days of the year, Good Friday and Resurrection Sunday. The significance of these days is often lost within the traditions that have become a part of the holiday. But at the heart of it all is a central reality...God loved the world so much that He died for it. And that sacrifice extends to those beyond the ones who filled services on Friday evening and Sunday morning. It extends around the globe to those who are hurting and dying and waiting to hear of the love of Christ and see it in action.

   Defend the cause of the weak and fatherless;
      maintain the rights of the poor and oppressed.
   Rescue the weak and needy;
      deliver them from the hand of the wicked.
Psalm 82:3-4

These words to God's people have never been more timely and relavent than today. There is no shortage of the weak, fatherless, poor, oppressed, or needy in our world, but there is a shortage of those who will defend their cause. And we, the followers of Jesus, have been entrusted with this responsibility. Further, as we live out this mission we are further emboldened by the knowledge that as we defend their cause, we defend the cause of our Father and bring glory to Him.

To each of you who are doing your part to stand with, love, help, and defend orphans with us we want to extend our deepest appreciation. Thank you for loving the least of these!

Welcoming Two New Ministry Partners

Handshake

This month we have the privilege of welcoming two new partnering agencies with whom we will be working to find homes for waiting children. Please take time to visit their sites and learn more about them and their work.

A Helping Hand Adoption Agency is a Christian interdenominational ministry dedicated to serving orphans around the world through adoptions and orphan relief. They list numerous waiting, special needs children from China. You can visit them at www.worldadoptions.org.

Building Blocks Adoption Service, Inc. is a Christian adoption agency striving to provide quality service to families and waiting children. They do not post waiting children online, but a list of eligible children can be obtained by contacting the agency. Visit their site at www.bbas.org.
A Book Every Believer Needs to Read

The Hole in Our GospelThere are very few books available that are capable of changing the way we think and live, but I have recently read one such book. The Hole in Our Gospel is written by Richard Stearns, the President of World Vision U.S. and challenges both our view of the church and the world around us.

Using scripture and the personal story of his transition from corporate boardrooms to some of the poorest and neediest settings in the world, Richard paints a vivid picture of the key missing part of Western Christianity and details a clear process for repairing that hole. I challenge each of you to pick it up and devour it as I have.

You can read more and find out where to pick up a copy at www.theholeinourgospel.com.
Pray for Immaculate

ImmaculateImmaculate is a sweet, shy girl who has grown up in a small village in Uganda. She became paralyzed from the waist down in July of 2006 following a bout of malaria. No one knows the exact cause for the paralysis. She uses a wheel chair and is incontinent of bladder and bowel. She has been cared for by her aging grandmother who is not healthy herself. Although she loves Immaculate, she has not been able to care for her well and Immaculate has recently suffered from infected pressure sores. Her grandmother desires for her granddaughter to have a loving family to raise her and care for her properly.

Director's Note: This little girl is very close to our hearts as we had planned to adopt her prior to our ministry transition. Now we no longer financially qualify to adopt with U.S. Immigration and she is running out of time. Once her grandmother is no longer able to care for her she will likely be transferred to a Moslem run orphanage.

Please pray for Immaculate and consider giving her a home...your home. You can request more information at http://theshepherdscrook.org/adoption/child/immaculate.
Don't Forget to Track Daryl's Blog
As God moves and Hope for Home grows you can keep track of Daryl's rambling thoughts through his blog. (Scary, isn't it?) Those who have read it tell us it is both thought provoking and infuriating at the same time. You can decide for yourself.

Please take time to read it, consider it, and comment at www.hopeforhome.blogspot.com.
