One hundred and twenty-two of tomorrow's potential engineers, scientists and astronauts from the Boys & Girls Club visited the U.S. Space & Rocket Center in Huntsville, AL in celebration of BE STELLAR week.  They discussed the USSRC's role in the making of the moon rocket, the space race and the Apollo missions.  They learned about the Space Shuttle program, the International Space Station and NASA's Constellation project.
Summer Talent Show
 Smyrna Talent Show
Every year we end the summer with a talent show at each Unit.  This year, the Smyrna Unit had 15 acts ranging from singing, to dancing, to joke telling, to magic tricks.  All of the performers were a little nervous at first, but soon warmed up to the welcoming crowd.  Every participant in the show received a prize.

The date is set and the theme is picked!  Mark your calendars for November 13th for HolidayFest Jeans & Jewels presented by Parman Lubricants.  We are excited to have artist Rachel Kice back with us this year.  She will be creating an original art piece to the sounds of a Middle Tennessee favorite, Gino Speight & Tight Noise.
The evening is sure to be filled with enthusiasm and anticipation as the live and silent auction will boast items ranging from trips to electronics to of course, jewelry.  The reverse raffle drawing will take place throughout the evening.  The grand prize is $10,000 and second place is $5,000.

The last day of summer camp was the hottest day of the program.  As the temperature climbed toward 100, our members became restless for some cool relief.
The Smyrna Unit took 125 members and staff to Wave Country.  Everyone enjoyed the refreshing sway of the water as they lounged and splashed the hot day away.
The Murfreesboro Unit held their annual and much anticipated Water Day.  Members and staff participated in water activities ranging from a water balloon toss to a waterslide, to a water gun war.  No one was left dry.
