23rd Annual Steak & Burger
 BE GREAT Celebrate
Steak & Burger
The 23rd Annual Steak & Burger, BE GREAT Celebrate presented by the Reeves-Sain Foundation was a huge success.  The event raised $119,073 for the programs that benefit the 1,700+ proud members of the Boys & Girls Clubs of Rutherford County.
The evening began with fun and entertainment from the Club members and was capped off with a testimony from Youth of the Year, Preston Green and a live auction.
Thank you to everyone who attended and helped make this event GREAT.
 The Big Green Help
Basketball huddle
Boys & Girls Clubs of America and Nickelodeon joined forces to promote a national service campaign that encouraged young people to take actions to improve the environment.
Our Boys & Girls Club recently did their part to help. On a Sunday morning, 17 Torch Club and Keystone members spent time cleaning up a section of Murfreesboro's Greenway.  Members cleaned up common litter and debris that seemed to be still leftover from last year's tornado.
 Nashville Sounds Reward Trip

 Nashville Sounds game
Several members from the Smyrna Unit recently earned a trip to the Nashville Sounds game through their participation in an eight-week Nashville Sounds Reading Club.  The children were encouraged to read books and set goals.  Each time a child completes a goal; they advance to the next base and receive a prize, ending at home plate.

Brionna says the Boys & Girls Club taught her to be patient and that a lot of things take time.  She enjoys coming to the Club and setting a good example for the younger Club members.
Once Brionna graduates from high school, she plans to attend college and major in Pre-Law or Theater.  Her dream is to be an actress, business owner, or entertainment lawyer.  She credits the Boys & Girls Club staff with inspiring her to reach for these goals and teaching her significant career skills that will help in the pursuit.
Brionna believes it is important to BE FREE SPIRITED.  She lives by the saying, "carpe diem" and encourages others to do the same.  "You only have one life to live so you should live it to the fullest.  It is more fun that way."
