Hello everyone,

Next week (26th-29th) is the pre-scheduled TP holiday and the following classes are cancelled:
Thursday night - Teen Strength (day classes still running)
Friday - Intense Strength
Saturday - all classes
Sunday - Advanced Intense Strength

We will be using the time to refuel our brains and muscles and come back even more ready to make your workouts a wonderful experience!

This is also a great time with the changing seasons and being halfway into the session, to give a few tips on classes:

1)  We don't want you to miss class.  With the dark early morning and evening classes, it means that we will often off-road to stay where it's lit.  This means that if you are waiting down at Lakeshore or happen to be a couple minutes late, you may not find us as the group zips away down a side-street.  Your best bet is to park as close to Joelle's as possible so you can huddle in your car until start time, or if there isn't parking, get there a couple minutes early and another TPer will kindly let you stay warm in their car I'm sure!

2) Which class should I attend on Saturday mornings?  Saturday is a big day for Tread Powerfully and we try to offer enough intensity options to suit everyone.  The 7:00 am "over 4.5 mph" class is the one class in the week where there is a speed and intensity requirement with no looping or "waiting" and since we are half into the season you should only be attending this class if you are typically at the front of your other classes or have been attending the class since the very start or have had a discussion with me about your attendance.  Lisa teaches the 7:15 am class and even though it's labeled as a "newer member" class, they are now into the second part of the session and so the class is a great mix of newer and long-term TPers.  This is a great early morning option and Lisa would love to have you.  The 8:00 am class is taught by myself and is a typical TP class and it's always full of great energy and zip and a little more sunshine!

3) Save your hands.  Even if it feels slightly balmy, the minute your palms touch the concrete for a plank, they will burn.  Pick up a pair of mittens or gloves to get you through this in-between time.

4) Vests aren't your friend.  We quickly learned last year that the cute little vests can't be tied around the waist once you start to overheat so save them for those fall strolls and instead layer lightly.

5) Shopping space required.  With the lead-up to Christmas, the Brant Street sidewalks will begin to hold more pedestrians with the shopping and cozy coffee stops.  I think we're doing a great job in noticing people walking and moving to the right to let them by....let's keep it up!

See you out tonight at the "Walking into Winter" special outdoor TP class meeting at Joelle's at 6:00 pm.  Remember your item for the food bank and be on time so I can get your name in the draw for the running shoes from Burlington Orthotic Centre.
