Pending Gift?
The Women's Symposium yesterday was amazing and the main theme conveyed was, take time to explore your health options. I can't think of a more perfect time for that wake up call. I was just in Shopper's Drug Mart and was struck by the congestion of holiday merchandise. I thought to myself that it would be very easy for me to become preoccupied with the perfect gift list, real tree or fake decision and how I am going to avoid the yearly holiday confrontation which strikes after a good turkey feast with the extended family.
I made a promise to myself and my 5 year old son (he's my health monitor....go figure) that Mama would explore more deeply one of the recommendations Carolyn Whiskin gave yesterday and then implement it. It's one that will help me through the holidays, it's been weighing on me for months and the exploration will really take only about 30 minutes. The implementation, yah, a little tougher, but now that I've told you, I'm committed. So, I'll need to sacrifice 30 minutes of work time or down time later tonight to read over the material, explore on the web....but, honestly, the procrastination was really getting old and tired.
Have a think guys. We all know that we can make time for what we need to do. I hear this all the time from myself and from you, "I know I need to do [insert your pending gift to yourself] but I'm so busy.....I know Sue, we're all busy." And I know that the implementation is not easy, whatever the change or addition is that you're trying to make in your life. So, explore, gather the support you need, make a commitment to someone else for a little bit of accountability and balance out your holiday preparations with a focus on yourself that's maybe been in the pending box for a while.
Lisa and I look forward to the week ahead and remember to use those thin multiple layers in the cold. Also, don't feel like you need to stand in front of Joelle's if you arrive early. Stay in your car if you're cold and jump out a few minutes before.
See you soon and write me with any questions or feedback you may have please. A few of you are already wondering about the January to April schedule and are placing additional thoughts in my head...no idea is bad and even though I can't implement everything, it may gell with something else I am planning.
Sue
