Now that's a nice way to swing into spring...and summer! It's also the time of year for spring cleaning - but beware of the cleaners you use! The Environmental Working Group has come out with its Cleaners Hall of Shame and Silvia has a useful summary of this guide to avoiding toxic cleaners. Speaking of toxic substances, did you know that solvent based nail polish can burn a hole through a styrofoam plate? Not exactly something you want to put on your child's fingernails! Chryso and some of our favorite 3rd graders got together to test Piggy Paint - Natural as Mud - a safer alternative to traditional nail polish. Meanwhile Dede has a review of the spring movie "To the Arctic", which follows a mama polar bear and her cubs as they struggle with climate change. Robin finds some great green design ideas for spring, and Jennifer has fashion tips for accessorizing spring eco friendly clothing styles.
Finally, be sure to recycle responsibly during your spring cleaning - check out my appearance on Mom Ed: Green Living by Cafe Mom Studios.
Enjoy this issue, and as always, thanks for being an EcoPlum Pie subscriber! Have a safe and peaceful Memorial Day weekend!
