Well Spring has definitely sprung! It's been absolutely gorgeous out there! Too bad this is not great news according to
climate scientists, as spring is coming earlier and earlier every year. But we might as well do what we can to affect change and in the meantime enjoy what we've got. So get out there, sport the latest spring fashion, put on your favorite spring shade of lipstick, and welcome the season in style! But be careful which lipstick you pick; some of the top brands out there contain lead, according to a recent FDA study as
highlighted on NBC News. So make sure you use lipsticks from our selection of
safe cosmetics. While you are at it, check out the latest trends in
eco friendly fashion from the Organic Girly Fashion Files. And if you plan to rejuvenate your hair after months of winter wear, Chryso has the best of the bunch in
eco friendly hair oils.
I can hear the guys saying - what about us? Don't fret, in this issue we also cover the latest
eco-themed movies, the Simpsons going
off the grid, the Accidental Locavore's attempt to
eat organic, and how to use eco-labels to distinguish the green from the greenwash when buying
eco friendly products. One company that has earned one of the most reputable eco-labels, the Green America Certification, is
Vintage Vinyl Journals - manufacturer of handcrafted quality notebooks created from recycled vinyl records and album covers. This month we are offering double EcoChipz rewards points on all
eco friendly gifts from this unique company. We've been adding new artists every week in March. Today we debuted U2's classic album
Under a Blood Red Sky.
Did you know this album came out in 1983, the year I started at college at Columbia Engineering? Well 29 years later, here I am featured on the cover of the Spring 2012 issue of
Columbia Engineering Magazine! Thanks so much to the folks at the alumni relations office who sought me out and wrote this wonderful article!!
Wishing you all a beautiful spring!
Best regards,
