Cops on Doughnut Shops Raises over $1,900.00
[Albuquerque, NM] - When doughnut fans stopped by their local Krispy Kreme stores to satisfy their sweet tooth last month they received a one-of-kind greeting from cops on the rooftops.
On June 22 - 24, dozens of law enforcement officers collaborated with Krispy Kreme for the annual Cops On Doughnut Shop-an promotional event to raise awareness and funds for the New Mexico Law Enforcement Torch Run for Special Olympics New Mexico (SONM) by perching officers on top of the Krispy Kreme roofs for three days.
Joined by handfuls of SONM athletes and fans, the effort raised some $1,918. On Saturday, June 23rd Albuquerque Police Department brought out numerous family attractions and activities that included its Mounted Horse Unit, and a special appearance from McGruff The Crime Dog.
Special thanks to Albuquerque Krispy Kreme staff and our LETR officers for their committed support of our athletes and sports program.

Support the 7-Eleven Fund Raising Challenge in Honor of the London Olympics
Everybody is eager for the London Olympics to start, and 7-Eleven has the perfect compliment for our Olympic frenzy all this month.
During this entire month of July when 7-Eleven patrons stop by any of the 23 Albuquerque and Rio Rancho 7-Eleven locations for some gas and slurpee fixes they'll have the opportunity to purchase a Law Enforcement Torch Run Bronze, Silver, or Gold Icon to help raise funds for SONM's athletes and sports programs.
This past June, Special Olympics New Mexico Executive Director Randy Mascorella and Global Messenger / Athlete Phil With met with 7-Eleven Region Manager Eric Corley in Albuquerque to celebrate the amount of $14,292 raised for SONM's athletes and sports program.
