Thoughts From Randy Great to Greater 
If I say this every year I apologize, but I think this year's State Summer Games were our best Summer Games, yet. They were an ensemble of so many memorable parts and pieces - all I have done for weeks is talk about them. In my mind - there were highlights.
Honoring the people of our past who were instrumental in getting SONM firmly on the ground and moving forward was humbling. As they gathered on Friday evening at our Chairman's Reception - watching each of them reconnect was a memory in itself. This accomplished group can never be thanked enough not only for what they accomplished on behalf of our athletes, but because of their passion, how they inspired so many others to do the same.

Four Corners Invitational Season Officially Open! 
The Four Corners Invitational Season has officially begun. Join us on August 17-19 in Farmington, to watch the athletes compete in Golf, Softball, Aquatics and Soccer. This has been one of our biggest events to date and we are looking forward to another big year.
Athletes, be sure you are going to practice and preparing yourself for the state tournament. Always remember to drink lots of water during your practice and wear appropriate clothing to stay cool.

7-Eleven Fund Raising Campaign Raises Over $14,000 for Special Olympics New Mexico
 On Tuesday, June 5th Special Olympics New Mexico Executive Director Randy Mascorella and Global Messenger / Athlete Phil With met with 7-Eleven Region Manager Eric Corley in Albuquerque to celebrate the amount of $14,292 raised for SONM's athletes and sports program. Special thanks to each 7-Eleven store and employee that participated in this remarkable fund raising campaign.

Reminder: Cops on Doughnut Shops Has Been Rescheduled
Just a reminder, the 2012 Cops on Doughnut Shops fund raiser has been rescheduled for June 22 - 24.
Mark your calendars for Friday, June 22nd starting at 6 pm through Sunday, June 24th until noon, and come support our NMLETR officers as they sit on the roof of the Krispy Kreme Ellison store and outside both store locations. Our courageous guardians of our Flame of Hope will be asking for donations to benefit our SONM athletes and families.
