It's Our Choice

When I was hired as the Executive Director of Special Olympics  New Mexico, a good friend called to congratulate me and in the very next breath, offered this warning - "Just remember, the higher up you go - the further away you get from doing what you really love to do."  What I really loved to do was have FUN in my job -
and lately, I am reminded of how important "fun" is, and not only in my job.

According to Wikipedia FUN is a primary category of life.  They didn't say what the other categories were, but just to have made that list is pretty impressive.  They go on to say that FUN can be encountered anywhere at any time and that it is different from enjoyment.  It's more spontaneous, playful, and active.

It's Time For Our Area Games!

Joe's Pasta House Selected for LETR Tip-A-Cop on April 27th

 .

[Rio Rancho, NM] - Joe's Pasta House in Rio Rancho is the perfect place for friends and families to gather, be social, and have fun-which is why this popular local Italian restaurant is the perfect choice to host a Law Enforcement Torch Run's Tip-A-Cop.

On Friday, April 27 dozens of Law Enforcement Torch Run officers will gather to raise money and awareness for Special Olympics amid "a warm, comfortable atmosphere, authentic Italian cuisine, and the best imported pasta in New Mexico." Come out and bring your friends and family to Joe's Pasta House located at 3201 Southern Blvd. SE from 5:00pm - 9:00pm.

"Having our Tip-A-Cop at Joe's Pasta House is a wonderful opportunity," says LETR-North Regional Coordinator Greg Buhl. "It's a great location because of the quality of food and staff that he has. The whole atmosphere is so positive and a nice place to be. It sets a good atmosphere for what we as LETR officers are trying to do for Special Olympics."

For more information about our Joe's Pasta House Tip-A-Cop contact Officer Greg Buhl at (505) 896-8345.
