Thoughts
from Randy - Blog

Tis the season
I believe it is those things we give thought to about Christmas that
sustains our adoration and excitement for this time of year. My
thoughts the past couple weeks have been centered around two
questions – do I believe that what I believe is really real and if I
do, how is that showing up in my life?
Whatever your personal beliefs - I wish each and every one of you a
meaningful Holiday as you personally connect with your reason for
this season.

SONM Poly Hockey will have new
look in 2011
Season Opens in
January

As if the excitement of Special
Olympics New Mexico's Poly Hockey season opening this January
wasn't enough for SONM fans, our 2011 State Championships will
also bring a new look and feel to one of our state's largest
team sport.
For the first time ever, the SONM State Poly Hockey
Championships will take place in Farmington on March 11-13 after
several years of being in Roswell. McGee Park San Juan
County Fairgrounds will play host to not only state poly hockey
competition but also our Opening and Closing Ceremonies.
"The people of Roswell--our volunteers, sponsors, athletes and
families-- deserve a very special thank you for their
hospitality and their hard work in helping build up our State Poly Hockey
competition to what is today," said Chris Page, SONM Director of
Sports Competition and Program.
The 2011 Poly Hockey season will officially open on Friday,
January 1st. Interested in getting involved?

Special Olympics World Games will be
held in Athens, Greece in 2011
(story via SpecialOlympics.org)

From June 25 to July 4 2011 in
Athens, 7,500 Special Olympics Athletes from 185 nations will
compete in 22 Olympic-type sports.
The Special Olympics World Games will be the crowning of a long
lasting movement founded in 1968 by a great woman, Eunice Kennedy
Shriver, who managed to realize her dream of global magnitude.
To create a world that is not dominated by those who are excluded
but by those who are included.
Nevertheless, the Special Olympics World Games 2011 that will be
held in Athens bear a special significance. They will take place,
without the presence of their founder, only two years after her
death, in the land of "fair play".
