Editor's Note:

Greetings SO Brief readers!  This past week, Special Olympics New Mexico sent 20 athletes from across our state to the 2010 Special Olympics National Games in Nebraska.  During that same time, our 12th annual Golf Classic and Sports Auction took place at the Four Hills Country Club--where over 150 golfers teed up for a successful round of golf and friendship.

Now that these two events are behind us, we are working to put together an issue (Aug. 11) fully capturing special features from these events and the National Games.  In this issue of our SO Brief, we invite you to check out the various links to various National Games stories and photo galleries.

As always, thank you for being a fan of Special Olympics New Mexico!

Thoughts from Randy - Blog

They Were Remarkable

Trying to put a Special Olympics National Games experience into words and do it justice is like trying to pour an ocean into a vase.

There are so many pieces that come together - literally thousands of people who make it work - and more amazing moments than most people have in a life-time. It really is almost impossible to process. Having had a few days to watch not only our athletes compete, but our coaches do their thing - I can tell you this – the Special Olympics New Mexico coaches who went to Lincoln Nebraska were remarkable. I am finding it hard to thank them enough, and I am honored to share with you just a few of their thoughts.
