Thoughts from Randy - Blog
Through the Eyes of Another

Special Olympics is all about creating new possibilities for any
person who walks onto our playing fields. We spend a lot of time
trying to articulate what those opportunities bring to the lives of
our Special Olympics athletes. Today however, I want to share with
you words I received in a card from Marla Wood, a friend of our
organization who raised money to support our athletes by going Over
the Edge.

How to teach
a great release in bowling
In
bowling, a great release is key to scoring big. The
following are 10 tips
to help any SONM bowler stay
focused or locked in to the task at hand, which is knocking down
pins to achieve higher scores.
-
Pick up your ball.
-
Get your mind
ready to bowl.
-
Get your body
ready to bowl.
-
Eye your targets.
-
Push out the ball.
-
Let the ball swing
back naturally (should not be forced).
-
Let the ball swing
forward and take your step toward the target.
-
Release the ball
(no launching the bowling ball in the air and on to the
lane).
-
Throw the ball
onto the lane.
-
Evaluate your
bowling performance.
