Dozens of
Special Olympics New Mexico volunteers gather for the 2009 SONM
Business Meeting

On August 21st and 22nd, some 100 Special Olympics volunteers,
representing the majority of SONM's local programs throughout the
state, came together to the Glorieta Conference Center for SONM's
2009 Business Meeting.
The purpose of the State Business Meeting was to update and educate
SONM area directors and local program coordinators of SONM's current
program policies and procedures. The meeting also gave the
opportunity for SONM's volunteers to inquire about other program
functions, including: establishing relationships with local members
of the Law Enforcement Torch Run, grant writing, fundraising tips
and resources, as well as working with the media and social media
best practices.
The meeting was graciously sponsored in full by Duffy and Jean Ann
Swan, Wal-Mart and Public Service of New Mexico (PNM). Thank
you to all who attended the 2009 SONM Business Meeting. For
more information or for post event questions, please contact SONM at
(505) 856-0342.
