donates $10,000 to SONM
Special Olympics New Mexico received a $10,000 donation from
Wal-Mart today to help fund SONM's sport program and its more than
2,400 athletes across the state.
"Special Olympics provides such a valuable service to the community,
to the athletes and their families," said Wal-Mart Spokesperson
Delia Garcia. "We are proud to be a partner with them, and to
continue their services...and all the good work they are doing."

officers raise $5,000 in first-ever LETR Golf Tournament in Cochiti,
NM

[Cochiti, NM] - On June 26, dozens of Law Enforcement Torch Run
officers, SONM athletes and local celebrities came together to play
in a golf tournament fund raiser at the Pueblo De Cochiti Golf
Course in Cochiti, NM.
The tournament brought together 102 golfers, including several
Special Olympics athletes, and more than a dozen volunteers. The
event also featured special guests: NFL player Alan Branch, New
Mexico Attorney General Gary King, 92.3 KRST radio show host Juan
Velasco, and other dignitaries from several law enforcement agencies
throughout the state.
The tournament raised more than $5,000 in just its first year. For

On July 24-26, 2009 hundreds of motorcycle riders will head to Belen
for the 2nd Annual Sturgis Bound Rally. This year, Special
Olympics New Mexico has been selected as the Rally's charity of
choice.
