Today Governor McDonnell announced the establishment of Virginia's first executive housing policy framework to include and focus on reducing homelessness and increasing affordable housing. The framework will be developed by a Housing Advisory Committee, chaired by the Governor's Senior Economic Advisor Bob Sledd, and will be finalized and announced in the fall.
VCEH joined the Governor, state agencies, nonprofits and other stakeholders for the Governor's announcement at Lincoln Mews - an affordable housing development in Richmond. VCEH applauds the Governor for his recognition of housing as a priority and his understanding that we can and must end homelessness.
