Please read below and if you do NOT want your contact information shared for the purposes of a study on homeless veterans, please email vceh@vceh.org by close of business Friday
December 18.

I hope you will participate in this important study on ways to reduce homelessness among veterans in Virginia.

Background

In 2009, the Virginia Joint Legislative Audit and Review Commission
(JLARC), the Virginia General Assembly's legislative oversight agency,
directed its staff to study ways to reduce homelessness among veterans in the Commonwealth.  Concerns about the coordination of services for homeless veterans and those veterans at risk of homelessness, as well as the potential impact of veterans returning from Iraq and Afghanistan on assistance efforts led to the review.  Study results will likely be
presented to JLARC during June 2010.

JLARC staff are currently preparing a survey of Virginia's homeless service providers.  The survey will help JLARC staff with identifying the current level of prevention efforts and homeless services and resources available to veterans throughout Virginia, the service gaps that might exist, and the potential need for and cost of additional services as part of a coordinated service delivery model.  Survey results will provide valuable information that may help the State improve service delivery for veterans who are homeless or at risk of homelessness.  To ensure that JLARC staff develop an accurate list of the State's community service providers, they have asked VCEH to share our contact list.  If you would prefer to not be included in the list VCEH provides to JLARC staff, please email vceh@vceh.org by December 18.

Because JLARC staff are also using other sources of information to compile their list of providers, your organization may still receive a survey even if you ask not to be included with VCEH's list.

VCEH will provide your contact information to JLARC for the purposes of this study UNLESS you contact us (email vceh@vceh.org with your name and the subject line "DO NOT SHARE") by close of business Friday December 18.

Please only contact VCEH if you do NOT grant us permission to share your contact information.  If you do not respond, we will assume permission.

Please note that VCEH does NOT provide your personal information to anyone.  If any other similar circumstances arise that we deem important enough, we will always request your permission before sharing your personal information.
