 Bill Kelly has returned to the U.S. from his assignment in China. As the new VP - Industrial Gas Sales for North America Bill manages the D&S U.S. and Canada sales group covering major gas producers and welding distributors.

 With Bill Kelly's return to the U.S., Amato Spagnoletti will be able to concentrate on the non-industrial gas market as VP - Engineered Systems / LNG Sales North America. Amato will focus on managing the engineered systems and LNG sales team and markets, and continue the development and integration of Chart's new LN2 doser product line.

Space Power Facility Uses Chart's LN2 HP Tank Supply System
NASA's Space Power Facility (SPF) at the Plum Brook site in Sandusky, Ohio, houses the world's largest space environment simulation vacuum chamber, measuring 100 ft. in diameter by 122 ft. high.

The facility was designed and constructed to test both nuclear and non-nuclear space hardware in a simulated low-earth-orbiting environment, including high-energy experiments, rocket-firing separation tests, Mars Lander system tests, deployable Solar Sail tests, and International Space Station hardware tests.
The SPF facility had to be upgraded, through Benham/SAIC Constructors, with vibroacoustic capabilities in order to provide one-stop space environment testing at the NASA Reverberant Acoustic Test Facility for the Constellation Program and the Orion Crew Exploration Vehicle.
As part of the upgrade, Chart provided the design, engineering, manufacturing, supply and commissioning of all LN2 supply equipment. Click on the link below to read the details regarding this challenge and how Chart stepped up to the plate to assist their customer.

The Cyl-Tel� Has Been Upgraded
 The Cyl-Tel� is a digital electronic level gauge designed specifically for the Perma-Cyl�. The "new" Cyl-Tel� gauge has been updated to include the latest in electronic and differential pressure measurement technologies. The "new" design includes: accurate liquid level reading using differential pressure, a graphical display, simplified logic with nine selectable units of measure removing the need for lookup charts. The design has been made even more robust eliminating the need for isolation valves for servicing the sensor and is truly telemetry-ready and compatible to your current telemetry system requirements. Chart Builds Largest Storage Tank
Chart Ferox in the Czech Republic was set for the record books earlier this year by building several of the 184,290 gallon, 18.4 ft. x 121 ft., 160 ton HT683/8 vacuum-insulated storage tanks, which service LNG applications such as production plant storage, ship refueling, and satellites for gaseous supply.

However, Chart Ferox is upstaging itself by recently manufacturing two of their new HT1000s for an LNG customer in Fredrikstad, Norway. These tanks boast a diameter of nearly 19.7 ft., a length of over 157.5 ft., a working pressure of 116 psig, a weight over 212 tons, and each holds over 264,172 gallons. These giants are the largest shop-built vacuum insulated tanks in the world!
